D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM Awful lot of money to pay. I'm not a fan of paying some of these positions QB money. 3 1 1 Quote
Brand J Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM Posted Thursday at 09:50 PM Love the deal and would’ve done the same with Oliver, but don’t love the money. 1 Quote

I feel like we got to a point in this process where Parsons became slightly overrated. 47 million is insane. Takes years for draft picks and trades to hash out. Nobody won anything yet. Once in awhile both sides even win. Dallas sucks at drafting so……. Two firsts arent equating to two stud NFL players Quote

Maybe they will get someone half as good as Micah Parsons half as good on rookie contract is probably a wash plus another pick plus legit DT Quote
Solomon Grundy Posted Thursday at 09:51 PM Posted Thursday at 09:51 PM Ed Oliver and 2-1st's weren't good enough for some of the posters here? At least we'd known we'd get something of value from the 1st rounders forfeited 🤷🤦 Quote
Pre1236 Posted Thursday at 09:52 PM Posted Thursday at 09:52 PM People saying it’s insane money - whatever, salaries are only going up, the NFL will never not make billions, and Green Bay just got a lot better. But the Bills tied up all their money in keeping their core group of *good* players together. 1 2 1 1 Quote
bigduke6 Posted Thursday at 09:53 PM Posted Thursday at 09:53 PM im going to add that Parsons is a known commodity. sort of like Diggs was when we went after him. sometimes its worth the draft picks just because you know what the player can do and bring to a team. you never really know about the potential of draft picks until a few years later. 2 Quote
bills6969 Posted Thursday at 09:54 PM Posted Thursday at 09:54 PM Cowboys are definitely tanking for Archie 1 1 1 Quote
BeavercreekBillsFan Posted Thursday at 09:56 PM Posted Thursday at 09:56 PM We need a Josh Allen equivalent on defense. Someone that can make plays and get to the QB. We have like 5 more years give or take of prime Josh left. Add in the fact that beane can’t draft d lineman and yes I would’ve given up the 2 first rounders in a heartbeat. Who cares, throw Oliver in too. We should be in win now mode. Instead we can all enjoy it when our defense can’t stop a thing in the playoffs again. 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted Thursday at 09:57 PM Posted Thursday at 09:57 PM Man I don't know if any pass rusher is worth $47M AAV. They need Jordan Love to be a lot better than he was last year for this trade to work out. Would have been fun if we had made the move but realistically I didn't think he was affordable. Anyways I was never one that wanted us to pull off a blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett or any other defensive player. I think you need waves of pass rushers constantly rotating and staying fresh throughout the whole game to be successful - that was Philly's formula last year. Hopefully the numerous investments we made on the DL this offseason give us that formula. 5 Quote
thewookie1 Posted Thursday at 09:58 PM Posted Thursday at 09:58 PM Barring some sort of serious collapse by Green Bay or Jones actually drafting great players twice he’ll be the loser in this trade without a doubt. Micah got an absurd contract for sure but he’s also one of the Top 3 pass rushers in the NFL and much younger than the other two. You don’t screw the pooch refusing to negotiate with an agent then trade him for 2 18+ overall 1sts and an ok NT. They literally have no pass rushers now. If we could have somehow turned Epenesa, and 2 1sts into Parsons at 40mil I’d be ecstatic. Quote
Wayne Cubed Posted Thursday at 09:58 PM Posted Thursday at 09:58 PM I think Dallas loses this trade in terms of what they got. Those two 1sts, will probably end up being worth 1 top 10 pick. Clark is a legit DT, but is 29 years old. I think the Packers lose in terms of the contract. Why do this trade a week before the season starts? So odd. Quote

It’s not the worst you can do but it’s pretty meaningless. stars and talent win football games. Not cap space and late first round potential guess we'll see wont we Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted Thursday at 10:00 PM Posted Thursday at 10:00 PM 27 minutes ago, RoscoeParrish said: Dang. Should have been us. Was never going to happen. First, you needed to have 21m+ in Cap Space just to be able to take on his current deal for the Trade to go through in the first place. Then, we'd have to pay him a 188m contract, 47m annually - while being last in the league in Space this year. And the following years probably aren't going to be much better with Allen's contract and the litany of extensions we did this season. Then we'd have to beat the Packers offer of 2 1st Round Picks plus perennial Pro Bowl DT Kenny Clark. So it would have to be more than 2 1st's and Ed Oliver, as their picks are thought to be slightly better than ours and Clark is probably worth more than Oliver. Problem there is if we could figure out a way to beat that offer and make it work under the cap, we'd be pretty much relying on Draft Picks alone to replace players in the coming years as money wise, we'd be nowhere. But we wouldn't be picking higher than around 60 for a few years straight. If we hadn't done a couple of the extensions we did and we hadn't spent what we spent on Joey Bosa and/or Michael Hoecht, not to mention a 3rd on Landon Jackson already - I could see it. But with everything we've done in bringing in 3 new DE's, locking up Rousseau long term, and the situation we're in now, it was a pipe dream. 3 2 Quote

Id rather pay known commodities top dollar than constantly taking swings (and a lot of misses) at draft picks. BUT, in this particular case, Parsons is a run game liability... as much as @DrDawkinstein doesnt want to admit it. Edited Thursday at 10:01 PM by Einstein 1 1 1 1 Quote
