I thought we cut that guy so White Steve can play??

I think Shakir is a good example of the staff being extremely cautious with injuries, so hopefully he's 100% in week 1. They will need him against the Ravens secondary.

Figured he’d be back, no need to bring him back early on a high ankle. Let that sucker heal as long as possible. Good sign though he’s back on the field with a week left to shake some rust off

Nowadays, if a player has a hangnail during the preseason, he is on the shelf for weeks....

Preseason is getting harder and harder to watch......thankfully, its almost time for some real games with the real starters.

Go Bills!!!

Keep in mind, preseason isn't there to entertain and be watched by fans, its to evaluate guys trying to make a roster or fight for starting spots or roles.

We need to tap the last two or three years out of this guy. His size mixed with vulnerability playing the slot gives him a narrow window to tap. He's not as stout or thick as someone like Cooper Kupp.

Protect him as best we can and hope we get 3 more years of high productivity. [Then trade him or let him go for comps]

That dude has no fear and knows he has unreal contact balance.

The only way to protect him would probably be to chain him to the bench.

And yet, they charge full price for tickets to these games

Agree, but PFT reported the average viewership for the preseason has been the highest it's been in years. Guess it proves we'll watch anything NFL related.

Speaking of Shavers making the team:

"My wife is happy because now his wife stays around."

I get that all the culture stuff will always be nit picked until we win a Superbowl, but culture matters.  The WR market is crazy and Shakir would have gotten more on the open market.  He chose to stay here.

It is hard to swallow but we need to limit his snaps. If we had other guys who can fill in at a lot that'd be cool but for now we gotta use packages to pull him out and keep him right.

If we are going to run we need to use the rookie TE more, Kincaid block a tiny bit. Even move Coleman to slot when we need a hard conversion.

And see what Moore can give us opening night! He is Shakirs backup.

As good as Shakir is, and Ofcourse I don't want him to miss any time, but that's the position I worry about the least having Josh jacobs and Elijah Moore

i like this point for early in the season for a few reasons. our depth guys early and often can be utilized to take reps when guys are fresh. the defense plays most of the entire game and does not sub like corners or safeties. sure, in the beginning of the season they're the healthiest they may ever be in the season but they're not going to be able to take guys running flare routes.

the first quarter or half i hope we just send guys down field over the top of the Ravens defense even if we run it or throw under routes. i want to stretch them out and put the long routes on film for other teams - especially because long route schemes and plays are only so limited. we won't reveal too much if we just send Samuel, Coleman, Shakir, Kincaid, Moore, Palmer deep every route.

In this I want to put Kincaid in positions where Josh will feel comfortable just pushing him the ball with no risks. Josh already has it in his head that he did not trust Kincaid enough because his words were that he did not find him last year. I want to make it easy for Josh to find Kincaid every play but at the same time give him someone downfield +20 every play.
