Lost Posted August 27 Posted August 27 It's essentially the same team as last year. If they can perform at the same level then theoretically they should get back to the AFCCG Reasons for optimism. -Keon looks like he might make a second year leap after his great camp. -Matt Milano is healthy to start the season and is playing well. Reasons for concern -Rookies unlikely to make much of an impact this year allowing other teams to gain ground. -Cole Bishop is still a big question mark going into the season. -It's still the same team that hasn't beaten the Chiefs in the playoffs. 2 2 1 1 Quote
LEBills Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I think Torber is going to be a much improved special teams coach. I think our turnover differential will go down from the +24 from last year. But if we can improve the starting field position we gave up (average of the 31 which was bottom 5 in the league), we should be to increase the amount of drives opponents have that end in no points due to downs. 1 Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I'm always hopeful, yet I don't see any big changes that made me feel this was this year. Just have to hope the free agents and draft picks meet the standard that has been set by previous years, and that Coleman and Kincaid can take the next step. Quote
Captain_Quint Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I think as always under McD, we have a solid team and roster for the most part. Alot of it comes down to who gets injured and when. Not just the Bills, but the rest of the league. By week 4, there will be multiple superstars on IR all over the league. I can't say that we are better or worse than last year until we get going. 2 Quote
kitchen sink Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I think Michael Hoeht, Joey Bosa and Joshua Palmer might pop more than we think, but for me the optimism is that they did not overreact and blow things up. Instead they addresses the areas of most concern. I also like the way they are stacking the practice squad with player like Poyer and Phillips, who can player-coach younger players and be there for break glass in case of emergency situations for a game of two. 3 1 1 Quote
Psautcsk Posted August 27 Posted August 27 (edited) Same amount of optimism as every year this decade. I am not optimistic about week one, however. A healthy Milano has a lot to do with my optimism. Edited August 27 by Psautcsk Quote
DaVinci Posted August 27 Posted August 27 (edited) Optimism- Josh Allen will be improved and offense will be good. Pessimism- Injuries on defense Edited August 28 by DaVinci 2 1 Quote
Johnnycage46 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 (edited) Nothing has necessarily changed drastically, and that is reason for my optimism. Because we still have Josh Allen. Edited August 27 by Johnnycage46 1 Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Reasons for optimism - Allen, the great RB room, healthy Milano, T Johnson, Kincaid, Bosa and clear improvement from Coleman. I mentioned this when Coleman was drafted, but he is size and speed wise very similar to Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman who were drafted at the top of the 2020 draft’s 2nd rd. Higgins year 1 - 67/108 908 6TDs, year 2 74/110 1091 6 TDs Pittman year 1 - 40/61 503 1 TD, year 2 88/129 1082 6 TDs Coleman year 1 - 29/57 556 4 TDs, year 2 ???? I wouldn’t be all surprised if Coleman doubles his targets. If that happens, he could easily get to 1000 yards. Remember, he average 19 yards per catch last season. 5 Quote

How does rookies not making an impact differ with the Bills from the other 31 teams? The only reason the rookies don't make as bigger impact because the starters are better than most of the other teams in the league so yes a team like the Saints will start their rookies so by Dec they may be better than the Bills. But not as good as the Bills starters Quote

Bosa, Hoecht, Hairston, a full year of Cole, the two rookie DT’s, Palmer and Moore and this is essentially the same team as last year? There are other things like a (knock on wood) healthy Milano and possible a full year of Samuel as well. Edited August 28 by Walking Tall 2 1 Quote
ngbills Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Josh Allen and the ball bouncing our way. Hope at some point McD won’t wet the bed in the playoffs. 2 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I have no idea what to make of this team. Either I didnt pay enough attention or the training camp and pre-season coverage of the team left a lot to be desired. I feel like they could win 12 games or start to lose traction in the AFC. I am very interested to see what they look like week 1 because I've heard next to nothing about the starting offense or defense aside from Keon and the injuries at CB. Quote
ganesh Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Improved Coleman Josh Palmer might be better than cooper Rookie DT’s had excellent camp and preseason healthy and motivated Milano Joey Bias as a pass rusher Hoecht as a pass rusher Nielson as DL coach Tabor as ST coach Worries injuries during Stacy and PS - a ton of missed practices safety and CB are untested is Kincaid ready to take the next step in year 3 Will Johnson come back from a poor season 2 Quote

Agreed...I'm hoping preseason was just a mirage and everything just corrects itself. I feel the offense will be fine, but will take a few game to shake off the rust. The only way this team makes it back to the AFCG is if injuries are at a minimum. The defensive backfield gives me the heebie-jeebies. The defense without injuries will easily give up 25-30 points per game. 1 Quote
Chaos Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Continuity. The most important factor in winning championships in sports is continuity. 2025 Bills are the epitome of continuity. 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Optimism: Allen will continue to evolve by distributing the ball and begin running less and less Cook, OL, and other backs will provide a consistent rushing attack Healthy Kincaid catches 80 balls Knox one of my favorites on the team makes 25 catches for 4 TDs and scores a TD in the SuperBowl Pessimism: Nah I'm not going there now. Bring on the Ravens! 1 1 Quote
L Ron Burgundy Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Bosa might be a difference maker. Seriously. Then gotta hope a newbie steps up and some 2nd year guys get better. That's it. We have a tough time bringing in elite talent. 1 Quote
