Roundybout Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Hopefully it’s just for mentorship. He fell off a cliff. Quote
Gregg Posted August 27 Posted August 27 If he wants to come back as a DB coach, then that is fine. But as a player. No thanks! He is done at this point. Quote

dorquemada Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Desperation move, but then again we're desperate and at least he knows the system 1 1 Quote

He offers nothing. Give that practice squad spot to someone that may develop into something, if indeed this is the PS. Is it a dumb dumb dumb signing if he’s signed to the PS to help the young draft investments learn the system, mentor them and be a locker room presence? imo, the PS has many potential uses now. Not just to develop young players. 7 Quote
Cubanmist 1 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 This signing could also be a strategic one in disclosing defensive data on the Dolphins. 1 Quote

yall Posted August 27 Posted August 27 The fact that we signed two safeties after cut down is a bit concerning. Outside of Benford (and maybe Rapp) the entire secondary is a bit suspect at this point. 1 Quote

He wasn't in a camp and in a few weeks, much like jordan phillips if things are not going the way they like with the young players they can add Poyer into the mix. I just don't understand if they were going to do this with Poyer why not just do it in the spring? They made a terrible signing in forrest, it could have been poyer all along. He could help young players more in the time period from april to August. Now the season is here and they need to prepare for opponents with all their time. Edited August 27 by MikePJ76 2 Quote

He looked bad with Miami. I dunno why people are acting like the sky is falling. He meets several needs from a backup. Cheap. Able to learn our system (knows it). System fit. Locker room leader. I dunno many teams with no dropoff for backup players, they aren't supposed to be world beaters. Our system seems to value smart players more than someone negligibly more athletic (again, backup pool were picking from). Jordan can hold down the fort in a game here or there better than anybody else we can pick up at this point. Its not earth shattering breaking news, we got a high floor backup... cool. Let's move on 2 3 1 Quote
SCBills Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I’ll wait and see what this means. If we have guys like Jordan Phillips and Jordan Poyer on our Practice Squad… that’s pretty awesome imo. The new rules allow for more vets like this on PS and I’ll take some guys like this everytime over young guys who nobody else wanted to claim. A good mix of young development guys and vets on your PS seems the way to go now. 1 5 Quote
bills6969 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I like it. He’s better than Hamlin. Also, let’s take his stint in Miami with a grain of salt. They are a dumpster fire and don’t run the system that we run here. 3 1 Quote

It’s my worthless opinion that Beane and Po have been in contact about this prior to signing him and was part of the plan. if he’s signed to the 53 man roster- then 🤦🏻♂️ 2 Quote
