Ya Digg? Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I would just like to thank all of you who have these extreme overreactions to the preseason games, it makes this place incredibly entertaining for the rest of us to watch the meltdowns during the preseason. It really makes me giddy when I see the Bishop/Hamlin/back up QB/ def line doom and gloom posts right now, I legit enjoy coming here to read them! 😁 At no point during the offseason does anyone ever say they want to see wins or even great play during these games, they want everyone to come out healthy. But then, lo and behold, these games start and it's thread after thread of "this team has no chance" or "they need to fire Beane/McDermott now" to go with "This years and last years draft classes are horrible" I for one really enjoy watching so many go off the deep end So cheers to all of you who are a part of this, know that you are making my day! 7 3 3 7 Quote
Pete Posted August 18 Posted August 18 (edited) no one cares about losing a preseason game. Its about Player Evaluation. Can each of 11 players on field, who can win, win their 1 on 1 battles? Its dissappointing that we spend the entire draft on defense, and not have more Bills making plays. I do beleive that the real Bills game was the practice, and that Bills were fatiqued and flat after 4 days in Chicago. Coach said those that perfomed well at practice, got the game off. And those that performed poorly, they played. Edited August 18 by Pete 11 2 1 Quote

If true, they could not have had many play well in practice. 1 Quote

He said players that need further evaluation will play”. 1 Quote

I for one, after a regime having 8 years to establish itself, would just like to see someone other than Josh Allen look like a star player. Or hell, I'll even take a WR that looks like they might be better than a typical fourth WR on almost any other NFL team that has even the slightest clue. I could care less about the score. When you watch these games, I see none of that. That's all I want. I ask again, if one of our WR's gets hurt, does it even matter? Once again, we have a stable of about 10 medicore, at best, WR's playing with the best QB in the league. Yet, we have about 400 rotational, and mediocre, defensive lineman again. It's the same tired philosphy of a defensive coach not adding to his strength. I keep hearing about this "best offense in the league crap" every week. But yet, they've had the ball last a few times in the playoffs and couldn't come through. Mainly because when it's crunch time, the mediocre shows. Of course, we all know the defense fails when it counts as well. Catch the friggin ball Kincaid. You are a first round pick that needed to make a decent play as a professional. Mediocre. All over the field. Mediocre players and Josh Allen. But hey Josh, "Don't Try To Do Too Much". 4 2 3 1 Quote
Psautcsk Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I like overreacting to the overreacting. Can the Bills forfeit the game next Saturday without being penalized? It has the makings of another unwatchable football game especially since they will play each other in the regular season. Quote
H2o Posted August 18 Posted August 18 If I say last night's game was a complete trash performance from game plan, to the execution of said game plan, to the players on the field, does anyone disagree with me in any, way, shape, or form? If you do, I have no idea what game were watching. We were horrendous, all except for Hancock and the Punter. That is not an overaction, that is an honest take. Thankfully, many of those guys will not be seeing meaningful snaps come the regular season, if they even make the team, because the suck. And if any of those guys do see snaps, the rest of the players around them will be better. They couldn't do a single thing right last night. It was rough to watch, even for a Preseason game. 1 1 Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I’d like to think the posters here are a bit more advanced than the usual social media active fan (they’re probably not) but I’m not at all upset about the outcome, but I am concerned about some of our valuable depth players who decided to take the night off. Some of these dudes will play meaningful snaps at some point in the upcoming season, and last evening wasn’t a comforting display. 1 1 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted August 18 Posted August 18 No one is supposed to care about play in a preseason game , but every practice session there are new threads here breathlessly updating us as to who has made “ plays” versus air….. but that’s positive news in the main, so all ok there.. 2 1 Quote

Careful you will be labeled as extreme overreacting, unhinged, and having a meltdown. Questioning, or having concerns towards a player, coach, or gm is not appreciated. 2 Quote
rusty shackleford Posted August 18 Posted August 18 At least we won’t have to overreact about the possibilities of our bottom of the roster guys getting poached before making it to our practice squad. 1 3 Quote
HOUSE Posted August 18 Posted August 18 These are important games mister... Otherwise, why would people pay big money to watch? 1 Quote

Amen. You could cut the bottom 50 players from the current 90 man roster and sign waiver wire guys and it might actually improve the roster. 1 1 Quote
Draconator Posted August 18 Posted August 18 The doom and gloom threads that the 2025 Buffalo Bills have no chance makes me drink, ergo that makes me happy!!!! Drinking leads one to their happy place!!!! 2 Quote

BVBILLS Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I don't care about the outcome of the game, but I'd like to see a much better effort than that. The shut out also makes the backup QB situation more questionable. Quote

There’s a difference between concern and what some people post in the game thread or other threads A couple for sure. For the most part I think many accept that it is only pre-season. I think some were hoping to see a little more improvement or glimmer of hope with all the additions through the draft and free agency on the defensive side of the ball. Unfortunately last night there was not much to be positive about. Hence the frustration. Even the people frustrated know the bills should and will contend for the Super Bowl. They just fear nothing has changed when it will matter most. i do think beane and McDermott have a vision and blueprint. I’m excited to see if they can bring it to fruition. I feel really good about this team for some reason. And this is coming from someone who is not a McDermott or Beane fan. Love the culture and the way they do business. Not a fan of the defensive scheme at all. But I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They have earned it after last season. Now if they severely choke and most of the additions do not pan out, that’s an entirely different conversation that needs to be had at the end of the season. But until then. Go Bills!!!!! 1 Quote
