Draconator Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) Either half the board has jumped off the bridge into the non-playoff abyss, or this years Bills are just not good enough, and we should trade Josh for whatever we can get for him. Which is is? Edited August 11 by Draconator 2 Quote
Mikie2times Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I think some people are finally realizing that the path to a major defensive improvement is far from a given. Our secondary even when healthy is in rough shape if Max doesn’t contribute in a big way this year. God help us if Benford gets hurt. The DL is going to depend on rookies and Bosa. Which is a total crap shoot. We will still make a run either way. But ya, I’m concerned about the defense already. Wasn’t really from any new information. Just sinking in what this might look like. 2 2 1 8 1 1 1 Quote

But after the 1st preseason game, should we trade Josh for 2112 1st round picks? 1 Quote
reddogblitz Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Me worried? No way. Come on yall. You can't tell anything from PS. It's not even real football. It looks like football. Kinda sounds like football. Sorta smells like football. BUT IT'S NOT REAL FOOTBALL. 3 1 4 1 Quote
nosejob Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I screamed for years to get rid of Frazier for that rush 4 only crap.....only to see it remain. Welp they brought in some fresh D minds, so we'll see. I would submit if problems persist, half the board will be using pitchfork and torch emojis. Drafting what looks to be an oft hurt Erkel with the 1st pick may not help matters. 1 1 1 Quote

Gregg Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The Giants who won 3 games last year beat the Bills in Buffalo. That should tell everyone what preseason football means. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. When September gets here then I will start caring about wins and losses. The backups and scrubs did some good things and some bad things on Saturday just like what happens in every preseason game in every year. The Jets also beat the Packers by 20 in GB. Does anyone think that would happen in a real game. 8 5 Quote
Augie Posted August 11 Posted August 11 This is what preseason is for. How can people properly lament the Bills next (inevitable) playoff loss if they haven’t been sharpening their whining skills for an entire season? Think Big Picture! I say we keep Josh, and hold out judgement on the rest. 2 1 Quote

It woulda been a lot easier to improve the offense by getting Josh one true elite pass catcher on the outside than rolling the dice on all these defensive positions and hoping they pan out. 1 1 1 Quote
Rousseauisnoschmo Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The 0-16 Lions went 4-0 in the preseason. Let me know when the playoffs start which we will be in because Josh is awesome. 9 minutes ago, Lost said: It woulda been a lot easier to improve the offense by getting Josh one true elite pass catcher on the outside than rolling the dice on all these defensive positions and hoping they pan out. Homey D. Clown Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I do enjoy a good "let's mock the realists" thread.... Both teams played base defenses and offenses. The Bills defense looks every bit as ***** as they ever have looked, including the Bledsoe era. I'm sorry, but you should see more out of that unit, and there was no change. Piss poor play from the secondary and the ever invisible, yet highly praised Ed Oliver. Seriously, everyone on the "it's just one preseason game" side of the coin seem to not see that what was displayed looked just like the same garbage as last season, saying the same ridiculous excuses as last year at this time. Flame away. 3 1 Quote
Florida Bills Fanatic Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The way some people have reacted, it's like they never watched a preseason game before. Vanilla defenses, no offensive game planning, and a montage of different players mixing in on special teams are what we witnessed. Coaches are looking for specific things from specific players who have a chance to make the roster while almost ignoring players that they know to be camp fodder. The mix of camp bodies with potential NFL players creates an overall product that is barely watchable. The camp bodies are there to save the wear and tear on the main talent of the team. We all need to remember this before jumping to any dire predictions of imminent doom. 2 Quote
julian Posted August 11 Posted August 11 There are fans who believe these glorified practices are predictors for real football. lol that’s awesome. 2 1 Quote

Great take lol. Go look at last year's preseason games, and the defensive turd the team fielded all season and tell me what's different? lol Kinda was a predictor of what actually happened all year. lol I do love the zealotry against logic and the deductive process. 1 1 Quote
