Based on what I have been hearing on Shavers camp. Is there really a path for him to stick On the 53???

It had already slipped through him by that point. Might he have recovered it if the DB doesn't get a hand in? Possibly. But if he catches it clean initially the DB can't knock it loose.

They are allowing the incidental contact in tight coverage, like Dane Jackson on the deep 9 a drive or 2 back.
