Honor what? he signed the ***** , any other industry you'd be fired for not honoring a deal that you signed!!! Yes, a team can cut you anytime and that is written in the CONTRACT that he signed It's not that complicated boys Edited August 4 by JerseyBills 1 3 Quote

That’s pretty wild to think a player can just show up and not work and be paid lol. What’s to stop the majority if not all the players from refusing any on field work ? Seems like the owners might want some language changes in the next CBA. 2 Quote

Shaw66 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Well, I hope the can get together. I don't think Cook is worth what what he wants. He's a back who has to be in the right situation to be productive, and Buffalo is the right situation. If someone gives him a big contract and he underperforms on a team less successful than the Bills, one day he'll be sitting at home counting his money and wishing he'd played for a winner. It's his choice, and I'm sure that's what Beane is telling him. 5 3 Quote

Bangarang Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Reporting to camp and participating for the first week only to randomly hold in seems so weird. 1 Quote
SCBills Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I enjoy the fans who go so over the top in defending the player. Yall are right, Cook has every right to do what he’s doing. I agree. Why do other fans have to like it? I don’t root for the Buffalo Cooks. I root for the Buffalo Bills and if he had his way, we’d have 15M+ against the cap for the next 4 years, paying a RB while a guy like Torrence walks or we don’t have money to take a swing on a Palmer or Bosa. I don’t begrudge him, but he’s not a DE, he’s not a WR, he’s not even a Top 3 RB. I do believe he has Alvin Kamara in his prime potential, but I haven’t seen that yet. Beane better be **** sure that’s in there if he’s gonna meet him where Cook wants to show back up for us. 2 Quote

An athlete making millions is not underpaid compared to 99% of Americans It's a relative concept and it depends on what a person feels they're worth. All people should have the stones to pursue what they think they're worth. Most people don't. They shrivel and accept what they get. If Cook wants to go after more, as is the case with most premier NFL talent, then by all means go get it. It doesn't mean he's less of anything. Teammate, player, or otherwise. We need more players who think they're good enough to hold out. So many people on here applaud Beane for all these guys he signs to a 2nd contract. Newsflash, the Beane special is a reflection of a player who doesn't think he is worth more on the open market more than Team, Process, and City. That isn't a good thing. Cook is the only hold out we have had in the entire McD era. We need more of these situations, not less. 1 2 1 Quote
