Report: Micah Parsons requests a trade

All this over the top discussion by Bills fans about what they would trade to get Micah Parsons?  Doesnt anyone recall how the bills a few years ago totally game planned him out of the Bills game, we had a master stroke in rendering him worthless.

We ran a heavy set the entire game and the Cowboys played a light box and had the linebackers playing deep....never adjusted.  That was a coaching fault, not Parsons.

Bills line up Parsons, Rousseau, Oliver and Bosa.

Seems the Bills could easily handle that with a couple 1st’s + and AJ Epenesa. 
 

Say what you want about AJ, but he’s solid and I’m not sure who else has a guy his caliber they’d could easily throw into a trade no questions asked. 

 

If it comes down to it you move Rousseau. I doubt we would actually do that because he fits the team's culture or whatever, but in reality there's no player on the team other than Allen that should be considered un-tradeable if you're getting an elite player back.

The Bills historically cut a few late round picks per year.

 

Obviously Micah is expensive but I don’t think there’s a massive salary cap effect from not having a late first and having to retain a 7th round pick instead.

Having 3 players, 1st round picks, of much higher perceived talent and ceiling (than late round up picks which work out much less frequently on average) on cost controlled contracts for a few years is what I'm referring to.

I’d take some convincing on Benford. He feels elite and in an elite deal at an important position.

Agreed, but I’m drastically reducing the draft picks.  
 

Say Rousseau and a 1st.  Maybe a 3rd if they ask for it. 

No one should be untouchable outside Allen in a trade for Parsons.

Zero chance Jerry trades Micah. This is just a negotiation play. For all the crap Jerry gets one thing you can say about him, he ALWAYS pays his guys. Problem is he just likes taking his time lol.

Really just a thought exercise because I don't think Dallas would want Benford back in this trade anyways. And I doubt Parsons will actually get traded in any case. This will have the same outcome as Myles Garrett IMO.

I want to say I agree.. no way they trade him, but Tom Pelliserro is reporting they’ve had preliminary trade talks with teams about him dating back to last year .. and other reporters are already mentioning frameworks of a deal they’d need.

But that doesn’t mean that’s going to cause salary cap problems. 
 

It’s a benefit of those players, sure. especially if they hit insane ceilings early.
 

By the same token, would you rather have random mid tier FAs/other draft picks in the roles of Kincaid, Elam and Hairston and have Parsons instead?

I don’t. First round picks aren’t playing on peanuts and we are never picking higher than 25. Those picks are pretty much lower ceiling compared to the rest of the first round and not that cheap.

 

I get it. Next year, pick 28 could be a player as good as Parsons and be 10x cheaper. And thats very valuable. But it’s much more likely they just won’t be as good/valuable as Micah.
