HIT BY SPIKES Posted Wednesday at 05:25 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:25 AM Now that the Giants @ Bills Pre-Season Game on Saturday August 9th is finally on the radar, the thought has occurred to me how on much effort I should put into this meal. Do I step up and treat it as a "real" game and grill some GIANT hand formed fresh 1+ lb burgers and perhaps some GIANT turkey wings or do I take a less effort approach to slowly gear up for the Home Opener against the Ravens? What are your thoughts? Obviously, I am NOT going to attend the game since when I had Bills Seasons tickets 2 decades ago, I could NOT even give away the Pre-Season games. Yeah I understand the Family Game is great for the kids and it is always nice to become re-acquainted with my American friends but it was such a long way to go for a meaningless game. Much better to watch it at home carefully to evaluate the players. Clearly, the first ear splitting song this year for each backyard tailgate will be no doubt this neighbourhood favourite... 2 Quote
Gregg Posted Wednesday at 11:26 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:26 AM Sure, why not. Doesn't matter what time of year it is you always want to have a good tailgate. The one thing I will say is early in the year (Aug/early September) I may have a few waters along the way. When the weather cools off then its beer only. 2 Quote
MikePJ76 Posted Wednesday at 11:45 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:45 AM My biggest problem with tailgating at home pre season or regular season is getting my truck in the backyard. It just won’t fit through the door of my fence. the second problem I have is that I don’t have a truck. 1 5 1 Quote
transient Posted Wednesday at 12:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:36 PM 🤔 Yes... by default. I don't put any effort into regular season tailgating, either. 1 2 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted Wednesday at 12:42 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:42 PM Nope. Pizza and wings or simple burgers on the grill for preseason. Go all out for the real thing! 2 Quote
Dablitzkrieg Posted Wednesday at 12:49 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:49 PM I don't remember ever having a preseason meal tbh 1 Quote

frostbitmic Posted Wednesday at 02:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:44 PM Nah, if the weather is good I'll throw something on the grill, if it's raining maybe I'll go to Nick Tahou's for a garbage plate. The more I think about it, Garbage Plate it is whether it's Nick's or my own. 1 Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted Wednesday at 03:05 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:05 PM (edited) No! I don't want to risk an injury. I let the rookies and camp bodies handle the preseason tailgate. Could you imagine the outrage if I tore a rotator cuff while shaking the wing basket during a meaningless pre season tailgate and my backup was forced into action and made subpar wings and wecks during the season! Safety first. I get that. 45 minutes ago, frostbitmic said: Nah, if the weather is good I'll throw something on the grill, if it's raining maybe I'll go to Nick Tahou's for a garbage plate. So I used a recipe I found on the web but made it gourmet. I was so damn proud of myself. I posted it on some Bills message board. Death threats from Rochester soon followed. 2 hours ago, Dablitzkrieg said: I don't remember ever having a preseason meal tbh Heavy drinker? Edited Wednesday at 03:31 PM by HIT BY SPIKES 4 Quote
Orlando Buffalo Posted Wednesday at 03:32 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:32 PM In FL right now it is now like 90 degrees all day so tailgating is not happening at all. And since we are no longer in the drought I don't get excited for the preseason, but I will definitely watch. 1 Quote

BuffaloBillyG Posted Wednesday at 05:21 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:21 PM Honestly, there are some days I forget there a Bills preseason game being played that day until it's started. Quote

NoHuddleKelly12 Posted Thursday at 01:39 AM Posted Thursday at 01:39 AM Part of it I think, is the weather still doesn’t feel right for football, so mentally my go to football comfort foods are also still on the back burner, no pun intended 🤷. 1 1 Quote
