Pete Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) 😢 Ozzy’s music has been one my greatest life pleasures, since I first heard Black Sabbath in Middle School. That was 1983, and I have been playing Black Sabbath vinyl regularly ever since. Sabbath always sounds amazing to me. Thank you 🙏 Ozzy Rock On you crazy, badass OG. Sabbath birthed-Grunge, Sludge,Punk, Metal, Stoner, ZamRock, Alternative, ETC Ozzy was misunderstood by many. RIP Ozzy My Old Friend 😢 Edited July 22 by Pete 1 1 Quote
Mister Defense Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Very sad. Was thinking just a few weeks ago how good he still sounded in the last Black Sabbath show in June. Just today, and this week, trying to sing Mamma I'm Coming Home, trying to remember the lyrics. And Blizzard of Oz, one of the first CDs I bought, a great album. A true game changing legend, making great music until the very end. 1 Quote
T&C Posted July 22 Posted July 22 His greatest vocal output is on this one, the last great Sabbath Lp.. 1 Quote

Metallica just waved their looong hair around in circles--I hardly saw their faces. Then, a great show by Ozzy. I bought my first Ozzy CD a few days later. Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I recall my mother being concerned that I was into devil worship because I spun a lot of sabbath vinyl 😂 … R. I. P. Prince of Darkness 1 Quote

BringMetheHeadofLeonLett Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Nothing story, but I'll throw it out there for the fun of it... In the late 90's, my best friend... my man, got married outside Anchorage. Spent a week or so up there along with a bunch of folks on both sides of the parties. It was Summer and it was a great time - outside of the millions of B-52 StratoMosquitos coming to siphon our blood every evening. Watched 4th of July fireworks in broad daylight on July 3rd at 11 PM, went to remote places to salmon fish, faced down moose, explored an old gold mine and partied at an awesome 'The Shining'-type lodge in the middle of nowhere. Gotta say, Montana sorta has this feel, but I've never been anywhere where the world just feels so much bigger than what you normally think the world feels like, quite like Alaska. Everything is just huge- the world is just huge there. Anyway, In the bride's party there was this really cute chick I hung out with off and on - turned out she was a twin... and they were belly dancers... belly dancers who performed together... with pythons And she was very proud they got hired on to do their twin belly dancing python show at Ozzy's 50th birthday party some months before. Moral of the story for the younger folks- get off of your *** **** Instagrams Quote
BringMetheHeadofLeonLett Posted July 23 Posted July 23 * full disclosure - didn't hook up, I was 'involved'. Sorry folks. ) Quote
thenorthremembers Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) Absolutely gutted by this one. I remember my very Christian grandmother taking me to buy music when I was around 8 years old. I picked out Sabbath Paranoid, and AC/DC Let There Be Rock. Still amazed to this day that my grandmother let me listen to both in the van on the way home. Started my first band when I was 12 and my biggest dream was getting to play Ozzfest. In interviews his personality came across less like the Prince of Darkness, and more like the humble kid from Birmingham who really loved the Beatles. His story always inspired me. Not a look at me post, so Ill spare the details, while I never got to play Ozzfest, I did ok. So much of what pushed me to play music came from Ozzy's story. Really wish he got to sing a song with Paul McCartney before he passed on. Rest in Peace Oz, you earned it brother. Edited July 23 by thenorthremembers 1 1 Quote
LewPort71 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 My view of Ozzy is as the front man for Black Sabbath, while my millennial son in law views him as the solo performer. Either way Ozzy was a great performer. Quote
