I attribute some of his failure to meet expectations to mediocre QB play

The hype was super high, and he looked like a freak to me coming out. I live right here in Atlanta, so since he doesn’t play for UGA I don’t hear much about him.  :)

I’m like a bird watcher when I have a rare Falcons gear sighting.

He ran a 4.4 at 6’6” 246? Didn’t realize he was that big and fast, he should be dominating. Do think it’ll take more than a 3rd like this article speculates.

It's interesting how a lot of these physical specimen-type WRs either bust out or underperform in the pros. There truly is an art to route-running, getting open, and playing fast (as opposed to running fast).

There's a baseball acronym, TINSTAAPP. There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.  In football, TINSTAATEP. There is no such thing as a Tight End prospect.

While true, most tight ends also take time to develop though they only get to a decent starter quality. Not a premium starter quality.

Kelce, for example, took time to develop and was/is over hyped for a tight end. He can't block and his window was small. Gronk at least blocked in his window and didn't go down in flames like Kelce will holding on to any like light.

Me too Augie!!

Regarding Pitts he really never had a good QB throwing to him.

Tyler Henike, Desmond Ridder and a washed up Kirk Cousins.

Perhaps Josh throwing to him would reinvigorate his career!

I’d be very curious to see it, but it will never happen because we are already so heavily invested at the TE position.

Lots of fast guys fail.

Pitts for Kincaid straight up.

We don't have the space to do that. We're only 2m under right now. Which is why we haven't signed Hairston, Sanders, and Walker yet. We'll have to come up with a fair amount of cap just to sign our Draft Picks, be able to pay the Practice Squad, go from the Top-51 Cap situation to 53, and have spending money for the season.

Dalton Kincaid's Cap Hit this year is 3.6m. Kyle Pitts' Cap hit this year on the 5th Year Option is 10.9. So we'd have to come up with another 7.3m on top of what we already have to do. And we'd only have him under contract for this season, as oppoed to Kincaid's 2 to 3 years (if he were to have a good year, we could pick up his 5th year option).

I wouldn't hate the idea - but I just don't see it.

Pitts wants to be paid based on his college statistics and measurables. Atlanta wants to pay him based on his performance over the last three years in the NFL. I don't think Beane would want to take on this negotiation.

I thought he was one of the best TE prospects in some time. Looked like that for awhile as well until his injury. I imagine he will still produce a few great years. He was just unreal with the Gators.

His stats read almost WR like.  He has a generally higher ADOT than you'd expect from a TE with a lower success rate or catch percentage and his rating isn't great when targeted but like I said his yards per catch has been pretty high for a tight end.  Seems like he's generally a big WR but to his credit his draft profile says he's a willing blocker so there's that.
