Realistically if we get 10 games out of this guy it'll be a win

10 healthy games from him is a big win in my opinion. It allows the team to ease in Jackson and Solomon into larger roles as the season progresses while still having Groot and AJE there early on and then eases Hochet into things after his suspension is over. Ideally yeah you want a guy to play all 17 and a full playoff run. But it is a calculated gamble that the team is taking to have Bosa on the team as a one year rental. As long as he can give the team a good stretch of 9-12 games I think he's gonna be a big positive for the reasons stated. Hopefully Jackson/Solomon show out early and the team can just have Bosa in a even more limited rotation role that keeps him healthy.

This is a big nothing.

McD: Hey Joey, glad to see ya. How's the calf?

Bosa: Yeah coach feeling great, ready to roll.

McD: I hear ya, big guy. Now I need you to go sit over there until it counts.

They also need to do what they should have done with Vonn. Joey, I need you for big games and the playoffs. Otherwise just pump up the other dogs! And if there is a ?able field surface, he stay's off it until it matters!

The problem with Von in the playoffs was we couldn't force a 3rd & long, so he was left on the sideline.

Agreed. 20 snaps max on perceived passing downs.   I want the guy available December through February.

Biggest waste of important dollars we ever made or pretty damn close to it.

Not even close. As just one recent example, the $96 million Diggs extension was made in the spring of 2022 when he was still locked up for two more seasons (till the end of the 2024 season). We then ate $31 million of dead money when we traded him. I believe that's the largest dead hit in NFL history for a non-Qb.

Bosa's guaranteed $12 million this year ($12.61 total) pales in comparison.

If Bosa misses more than half the year and playoff games it won't look good. But if he can still get to the quarterback in some big regular-season games and in the playoffs, it will be fine.

We probably won’t see him until training camp.  I don’t care if he heals up properly.  We have so many weak opponents this year, I wouldn’t even play him except games like the Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, Bucs, Texans, and Bengals.  He’s not needed for division games the Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Browns etc.

I think if we act as a group, we, through clever semantic

juggling can make it appear that we aren’t continuously repeating ourselves, and get this thread up to a minimum of fifty pages, and maybe even more, what say guys and gals?

Absolutely asinine signing.

Nearly as asinine as signing two guys starting the season in the PED Penalty Box.

Only word on if the Bills are forcing Hoecht or Ogunjobi to room with Kincaid?

He wasn't all that effective anyway. It was a shame we didn't retain Floyd last year.

Well yes, him being washed was also a problem

I'm not happy about this, but he, ogun, and Hoyt are all on this team so that we don't have Jordan Phillips and Solomon and two street free agents taking late game snaps vs the ravens and chiefs late in the game because Oliver Groot and even AJ are dog tired after being out there for 70% of the plays on long sustained drives in the playoffs.

Mcds ideal d is capable of playing the pass with waves of d linemen causing team based pressure and playing the run with penetration all in front of smart cover lbs and a nickel secondary that erased the deep ball and forces bad passes.  When more than one part of that fails the d is a house of cards that gets trucked slowly all game.  Our lack of depth and talent killed us in every playoff loss.

Short of adding a Myles Garrett, the build we have now is about perfect for what McD wants to do.

It of course is possible the picks and free agents are all pumpkins and we do the same crap in the post season, but young, agile, mobile, and hostile is a pretty solid formula for football, so I like our chances

Yeah, I think this story is a big nothing burger and there's been so much written about it here and elsewhere.  If Bosa wakes up with bed head, McDermott is probably giving him 2 weeks off until his hair has time to heal...at least until it counts.  Bruce Smith used to have holdouts just so he wouldn't have to go through the grind of training camp when he got older.  Looks like Bosa and McD will be working together to find creative ways why he can't practice.

What do you make of McDermott saying that Bosa's injury is "concerning?"

Isn't everything concerning for McDermott?  That seems like the kind of question reporters ask him a lot...and he always says he's concerned.

So you're saying it's a nothing burger but that McDermott is blowing it out of proportion?
