TheFunPolice Posted Wednesday at 01:28 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:28 PM the good news? Pittsburgh is allergic to passing offense anyway. Quote

Bullfrog Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM This is because Dallas got Pickens and then regretted it and had to give them a 3rd to take him back. 1 Quote
Bullfrog Posted Wednesday at 01:42 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:42 PM I liked Pickens coming out of college. His talent is undeniable. I could get over the diva stuff but when you stop blocking and give up on plays I just can't except that. I would want nothing to do with this guy now. I will be surprised if Dallas gives him a stupid contract. He won't stay happy for long. Good luck Dallas. Quote

No way they trade Pickens if they get one more bite at the apple with Rodgers/Pickens OR… they needed a roster spot for Randall Cobb 1 1 Quote

This is just clearing space for Lazard. I’m not saying that’s it, but if Pitt is willing to go all in on Metcalf to pair with Pickens, but then after the draft trades Pickens, I suspect this is more like a Diggs move. He’s been a problem since day one and they can still get something of value for him, might actually be addition by subtraction. 7 minutes ago, iccrewman112 said: OR… they needed a roster spot for Randall Cobb Ha, we are on the same page. 1 Quote
Buffalo4Life01 Posted Wednesday at 02:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:03 PM (edited) Pittsburg is stock piling picks for next year's draft where they will trade up and get a QB. I don't find this move surprising at all. For NOW at least it weakens another AFC opponent. Edited Wednesday at 02:03 PM by Buffalo4Life01 1 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted Wednesday at 02:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:03 PM I'd have taken the risk.... Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted Wednesday at 02:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:06 PM Pittsburgh is actually very smart with their head case receivers. Always know when to sell high, and let guys walk. i wouldn’t be surprised if Pickens is the next in a long line of former steeler receivers who just go crazy. 1 Quote

starrymessenger Posted Wednesday at 02:22 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:22 PM Have always loved Pickens the player, especially when his head was right, or at least more so. Have no use for him now though and would not want him anywhere near our WR room. He's pretty much out of control. Quote

But we're not discussing his skill--it's his state of mind that is the topic. He feels he's not able to reach elite status because of the QB'ing he's had. Hard to argue otherwise. He's a kid on the way up, not a burnt out former WR1 trying to land on his 3rd roster since September... Quote

Bruffalo Posted Wednesday at 02:42 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:42 PM That seems pretty cheap all things considered. I'm guessing the Steelers wouldn't have traded him inside the conference, because it seems like the Chiefs or Bills would have been at least in the running for a player like this. 1 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted Wednesday at 02:46 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:46 PM Talking with some friends who are Steelers fans, and they couldn’t care less about losing pickens. i think it goes to show you that you can have all the talent in the world, and it’s just not worth it for a team to sign a guy who is also a total insane malcontent. We had a tiny taste of that with diggs (who is nowhere to the level of Pickens), and I have to say that the pros don’t really outweigh the cons. 1 Quote

This article is before the 3rd for Pickens: https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/steelers/2025/05/02/2026-nfl-draft-steelers-updated-pick-projections-for-next-year/83408057007/. They can use those 3rds and 4ths to move up the board. Maybe they can get 2 2nds and still have a 3rd. Their own first, which could be early, 2 2nds and a 3rd may be enough for them to move up and secure their QB in a much better QB class. I suspect that they get a 2 and a little more for Watt. My buddy is there and thinks they should get whatever they can for Watt. He thinks he’s about to fall off a cliff. Interesting! Did he say why he thinks that? Quote
Mister Defense Posted Wednesday at 03:14 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:14 PM Definitely not a fan of jones or his girls, but I think it is a great move. I am not upset that the Bills did not sign him, though I would not have been averse to it if the cost was low, which it will likely not be. The girls seemed to have almost no reliable weapons after Lamb last year, and with 24 year old George Pickens they may have struck gold. Now ol' Zak can maybe get his girls into the playoffs again, this year or next. And lose again, of course. Quote
