Two days home after his last deployment: 4th of July on the Potomac, he slipped on a boat, hit his head and fell into the river. That was that. Incredibly sad. Hug your kids and friends, boys. Whoever's running this whole show really pisses me off sometimes... To your brother 🍺 1 2 Quote
eball Posted Wednesday at 04:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:53 PM So I guess there's some "good" news to this -- it does in fact appear as though it was a complete accident and Elway did nothing wrong. The dude just fell off the back of the cart and landed on his head. Still tragic, but no evidence of negligence or foul play. 4 Quote

Life threating injuries to the passenger. Elway was driving. His friend is on life support. Holy cow. I work at a country club and whip those golf carts life it’s GTA. I will definitely think twice from now on. 2 Quote

I don’t wildly change my life to prevent every last trip/slip/fall… but there are definitely moments where I catch myself and tighten up behavior more quickly than once upon a time. 2 1 Quote

Yes, and it’s also one of the reasons I’m not a “worry about the future” kind of guy. You really never know what could happen in the blink of an eye to change your (or a loved one’s) life. 1 Quote

BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted Friday at 03:17 PM Posted Friday at 03:17 PM I used to drive golf carts going up piles of coke dust (not that kind-coal) with the pedal floored working at Tonawanda Coke and never once did anyone fall out or come close, Well maybe close. 1 Quote

True story: Severe downhill par-3, short but the path is almost straight. We play, leave, drive up to the next teebox and hear the telltale "screeeeeee-KRASH". It's blind from the box but from the fairway we could see the group had lost control and smashed into a tree, cart over on it's side. There was a foursome so they had gathered round, I guess there must have been some injury involved since later an ambulance arrived. A week later we're playing again, same course. We're not getting pushed, we go to check out where they wrecked. The cooler was still there in the brush, with some unopened beverages. They were tasty. Not where I thought this story was going. 😂 1 Quote

They taste like flavored sparkling water and you can pound a dozen without thinking about it (or you can if you drank like I did, hence the quitting). 1 Quote

At the 7 minute mark I believe it was, they hit that guy pretty hard. Quote
