But I've watched a lot of football in my time... just watched Sanders' highlights. I would say he has IT. Goes through his progressions, scans the whole field, starts scrambling at the exact right time, keeps his head up downfield, scrambles pretty well when needed, places the ball accurately all over the field. Can't ask for much more than that. His windup is a tad slow but that's my only criticism. That's the problem with highlights. It doesn't show the negative plays that are equally important in evaluating prospects. I grew up a Colorado fan under McCartney and really like what Deion has done there. He has bright life back into Colorado football which is pretty remarkable with how bad they were and there was no energy behind the team. As for Shedeur, I have watched him a lot over the last two years, and here is my breakdown. Positives: he has excellent ball placement. Probably the most accurate passer in the class. He is a smart dude, does really well in school, and studied the game under great coaches. He is tough and will battle through hits, he took a ton of them at Colorado. He seems to have a short memory. He will get hit hard then hang in the pocket the next play and deliver while getting hit again, without shying away from contact. I think he actually has enough arm strength, not elite but good enough to get the ball where he needs to. Negatives: I actually didn't agree with processing quickly. He seems to take a while to move from read to read. A big reason why he gets sacked so much. His o-line wasn't great, but he also didn't do them any favors. He got away with just throwing the ball up close receivers and because of receiver talent and lack of db talent in the big 12, he got away with it often. Probably a low possibility of those throws working in the league. He doesn't have great pocket awareness, and wil take a sack instead of throwing the ball away. Also, makes a 7 yard sack a 20 yard sack by retreating, and doesn't quite have the speed or agility to get away, making a bad situation worse. He has a pretty quiet demeanor. I wonder about his leadership and gaining respect in a NFL locker room. His brother, Shiloh, is much more like his dad when it comes to being a big loud personality. All in all I don't think he is going to be a starting level QB and whoever ends up drafting him will be looking for his replacement. Just my two cents from following him the last couple of years. He needs to win now. Hence why they signed two vet QBs Seeing teams sign Vet QBs like that at the top of the draft tells me they don't think highly of this class. Or they think / thought QBs would go #1 and #2 and needed a backup plan. Or they don’t think Sanders and/or Dart are week 1 starters but do not want to pass up on a QB with a top 5 pick again like they’ve done several times. Relying on Russell Wilson to not get you fired is about a bone headed as it gets! Only reason they don’t take a QB with one of their top 2 picks is the owner gave them the green light to tank for Arch. Edited April 22 by TheWeatherMan Quote

A really good friend of mine is a Raiders fan, and although he says they need a QB to develop, he doesn't want Sanders. I said why? He said Deion. I agree with him, whomever takes that kid is going to have to deal with Deion and that might be a bit much. Imagine the Head Coach of any NFL team that has Sanders kid, it would ALWAYS be in the back of their mind that Deon is a potential replacement. 1 Quote

Thanks for the broader info. Nothing i hate more than retreating into a drive killing sack. He did look a bit slow to accelerate in the pocket but it didn't hurt him on the highlights, obviously... Even if Ward is there guy, they still went to Sanders pro day. Why would you not still have the workout and do your due dilligence? To me, this means the competition between Sanders and Ward isn’t even close, which is what a lot of recent rumors have implied. Some have Sanders and a low 1st round talent. Very prophetic Quote
