f0neguy Posted Tuesday at 01:27 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:27 AM Aren’t we glad they played better at the end and moved up a few spots in the standings? Something to build on for next season… 1 1 Quote
Gregg Posted Tuesday at 12:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:48 PM Stupid Panthers. Need a better effort in game 2. BOB needs to play better in the net. I don't want the Leafs advancing to the ECF. Quote

It did make me feel a bit better seeing Boston and Philly both get knocked back 2 spots too. Especially Boston. That knocks them back to #7 and Philly out of the top 5. 😁 lol I am actually happy for the NYI fan base too. I’m glad to see a new team win the draft lottery for a change and NYI fans are die-hards. They deserve the excitement. As for the Sabres, I’m hoping they can trade the pick for a good player to help them now. Being at #9 likely means being into the 3rd tier of prospects in this draft as the top 2 tiers are said to be only about 6 players deep this year (assuming the top 6 are gone by pick 9). I was hoping a guy like McQueen might fall to 7 but I’m not sure he makes it to 9. I don’t want to see Buffalo trade the pick just for the sake of making a “win now” trade. But if the right player is available I’d trade the pick in a heartbeat. Quote
BillsFan4 Posted Tuesday at 02:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:28 PM such an unserious organization. Almost every team that had a down season made some type of change in their front office or coaching staff. Here we are, year FOURTEEN without playoffs and the only person they let go (so far) was a strength and conditioning coach. Adams was never even qualified to hold the GM job in the first place, and now here we are 5 years later and the team he put together is no better than the one he took over. It may be worse. It certainly has less top line talent (Eichel, Reinhart, Montour, Ullmark). Yet he will be back for year 6, based on…. what? Certainly not merit. If Kevyn Adams got fired today, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he wouldn’t even get a single GM interview with any of the 31 other teams in the league. I’m not even sure he’d get asst. GM interviews. Things are going to get really ugly if they have another bad season next year. Guarantee we will be dealing with more core players demanding trades. From what I’ve seen and read it sounds like we are already approaching that point. I don’t think the players have much faith in Adams either. Quote
May Day 10 Posted Tuesday at 03:14 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:14 PM Nope. I've tuned the team out a long time ago. They are a joke. Quote

davefan66 Posted Wednesday at 08:02 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:02 AM What in the world could Adams have presented that saved his job? His playoff record? Eye for talent? Wins versus loses? Thankfully pegs did hire a real GM for the Bills. Quote

I thought for sure last year would be the breakout year and they would make it. But it didn't happen. What went wrong. I am an Isles fan in NJ, so I don't get to see the Sabres that much unless they play one of the three local teams in the NYC/NJ area. Quote

I am an Isles fan in NJ, so I don't get to see the Sabres that much unless they play one of the three local teams in the NYC/NJ area. Injuries mainly. And from that, extended losing streaks. Their top scorer, Tage Thompson, had a wrist injury he tried to play through, but his scoring was cut in half. Dahlin also had lingering back spasms. Since Ralph Krueger left the Sabres can't put it all together at the same time. Good goaltending? Can't score. Got even-strength scoring? Power play sucks. Certain key players, like Jordan Greenway, can't seen to stay healthy. I think the reason they are staying with Adams is because the Sabres actually have a pretty talented roster. Thompson, Dahlin, Tuch had good years stat-wise. Trades and free agent signings like McCloud and Zucher turned out good. Young players like Kulich and Benson are starting to emerge. The Rochester Americans, who are currently in the AHL Calder Cup quarterfinals, are loaded with prospects. So why didn't they make the playoffs this year? Terrible defense and poor goaltending that resulted from that. There was a disconnect between the players and head coach Lindy Ruff on how he wanted them to play. Then there was a 13-game skid in December (10 L, 3 OTL) that dug a hole they couldn't climb out of. Having Dahlin out (back issues) didn't help. But they did play better the last two months and they must feel like if they can just maintain that the entire season they will break the drought. Having blown to up the team three times in this 14-year drought, I think they believe they are close and blowing it all up again will just add more years to the drought. Bills fans know what a playoff drought is like. And in 2017 no one expected that drought to end. (It took a Bengals miracle to happen.) But it did end, and look at the team now. You gotta believe the Sabres will find their way out. Edited Wednesday at 01:54 PM by PromoTheRobot 1 Quote

Outlaws is annoying and the logo reminds me of dozens of annoying youth fake elite teams that use the same looking logo. Quote
