I proved your statement that illegals don't live in "affluent suburbs" was stupid, but as for the third grader, if the child did not travel how did they come into contact with the measles? Lack of travel means it was most likely brought in with someone else from somewhere else. It is very likely the initial student with it did not go to a doctor because he was illegal.

you proved wealthy people live in the same communities as poor people.  nothing more.  I proved that the index case was not an immigrant.  as for how he got it, perhaps his unvaxed family had travelled or their friends had.  Anti vax morons tend to stick together in their cult (thank God).  You have no evidence these cases were initiated by illegals yet you persist in making your racist judgment.  I really hope you are a fake teacher like so many other fakes on the MAGA side here.

So is there anyone here who DISAGREES with the following proposition:

"Immunization against measles should be required for all children unless that child's parents can show a well-established religious basis (not merely personal belief) for an exemption."

I will ask again, if playing the odds, what is the most likely source of the illness to a child who has never traveled?

It just spontaneously generated, like all the Wuhan variants that hit the country despite Joke doing the opposite of everything Trump did...

I have to imagine that there are medical reasons some kids shouldn't be immunized as well.

Yes, that too. So let's add that to the question - "other than demonstrated medical reasons or well-established religious exemptions."

I don't personally disagree with, but I can understand why someone would.

A pandemic plan was in place. Trump abandoned it — and science — in the face of Covid-19

Trump spent the past 2 years slashing the government agencies responsible for handling the coronavirus outbreak:

Here are some other actions the Trump administration undertook to dismantle government-spending programs related to fighting the spread of global diseases, according to Foreign Policy:

  • In 2018, for instance, the CDC cut 80% of its efforts to prevent global disease outbreaks because it was running out of money. Ultimately, the department went from working in 49 countries to just 10.
  • Shutting down the entire global-health-security unit of the National Security Council.
  • Eliminating the US government's $30 million Complex Crises Fund.
  • Reducing national health spending by $15 billion.
  • Consistently attacking Mark Green, the director of the US Agency for International Development.
  • The CDC is working on a new test to screen for the coronavirus, but according to New York magazine, problems with the test's development resulted in only three out of 100 public-health labs being equipped to screen for the virus. Moreover, each test costs as much as $250, and the Health and Human Services Department is already running out of money to finance an adequate response to the outbreak.

Seeing as hind sight is 20/20 and that the biggest part of the population that the virus hurt were the elderly & that young people weren't really hurt in any way by getting the virus not a lot of this bothers me . It bothers me more that our beloved gov't still allows orioles to cause many more deaths from addiction than the pandemic did but that doesn't worry any one just let the legalized killing go on .

I'm not saying that the pandemic wasn't something to be concerned about but they lied from the get go about, how it came to be (transfer from animal to human), where it originated (In the wuhan lab), who helped pay for it (US gov't & Fauci helped), how to slow it from spreading (Masks & complete isolation), & then the push for a unsafe vaccine (a jab that had unknown side effects that has been linked to killing some)  .

So if the complete unadulterated truth isn't being told then why fund a lie ? Oh wait that's right you believed in the Russia thing scrap all that Sorry BT i forgot who i was talking to ...

In other words, the "clorox thing" is not like the others.

In some ways yes ! It does help & i understand it and why it is being used . But why is it when some one speaks metaphorically it is taken literally in like in the case of when the previous POTUS said it .

I on the other hand explained in may last reply what i meant & hopefully it is understood if not well i can't help that, but the biggest thing that gets me is most of those that we elect to over see the health & welfare of those that elect them in truth don't give a S**T about us which is why the bad stuff is continually allowed to be produced even while knowing it will cause harm to a majority of the US population .

Second measles case confirmed at Chicago migrant shelter

by Kelsey Kernstine

CHICAGO — A second case of measles has been reported at a migrant shelter in Chicago, raising concerns about the potential for a larger outbreak due to the high number of unvaccinated asylum-seekers. According to the Chicago Department of Public Health, this is the second case among young children confirmed at a shelter in the city’s Pilsen neighborhood. Health care leaders warn about the risk of widespread outbreaks in migrant shelters, where vaccination rates are low and migrants often sleep in

Let's make April "Achievements of Socialism Month".  Beyond historical accounts of destroying civilization it will be a very quiet month.  The theme, Socialism attracts losers.
