How do fans even think about the future at times like this?

Who cares about the future right now?

KC just ended our season for the 3rd time in 4 years.

I mean... I can't even get myself to care about that right now.  And it's going to take a while.   I am amazed so many of you are able to do that - almost immediately - following a loss like this.

Cause life goes on.  Can’t change what just happened.  What’s the sense of sitting around whining about it?

Been here since before Wide Right Part 1  (assuming this game is about to be labeled "Wide Right II")

So no.

And that's exactly why I feel the way I do.

In fact, on a side note, I've been waiting since "The Comeback" for the Bills to be on the winning end of a classic game that gets its own name.  We always lose those games.  Makes it hard to "look forward" to the next year, among other things.

It was a lazy attempt at humor. Everyone copes differently. I’ve been let so many times by the Bills I actually don’t get let down anymore.

Most of the time I just laugh. 12 men on the field was hysterical to me.

This ending though was completely predictable. Don’t understand all the “heart break” talk from anyone whose been a fan for 20+ years.

Im with you there. But the future is the only glimmer of hope we have with this never ending Bills induced torture!

Its the Charlie Brown effect. This time! Yes this time we are going to kick that football! and then reality strikes and our SB victory and hope vanish like a mirage.  I've been a fan since the 79 season and they have killed me like this at least 8 or 9 times but I foolishly convince myself to hope again!

I think this offseason is going to be brutal. Not only the roster management but also listening to all the media chatter, its just going to be exhausting.

I'll get there, though.

I don't disagree.  I just think, the day/night immediately following a season ending loss, I can't get to that point so soon, but to each their own.

Give me about a month... then I'll be all about the off-season and the future.

Pretty sure I saw a stat that we have been the most run heavy team in the NFL since Brady took over. To me that's a problem. To McDermott, I fear he sees that as light at the end of the tunnel

Yea winning is a problem.

The O needed one more elite WR all year.

That’s what’s missing.  And Cook to not drop a TD every week.

Amazingly enough, this time, the Cook TD drop did not cost us 6.   He has dropped 3 tds this year and this is the first time we ended up with 6 anyway.  But we still lost :(

I’m with you.  I have no reason to believe this team will achieve anything more than they have while McD is the coach.

I’m trying to look at this as objectively as possible . We scored more points tonight than any previous KC opponent. That includes missing a simple 44 yard field goal. If we hadn’t been decimated by defensive injuries the previous 2 weeks, I think we would’ve won the game.

If Milano & Bernard can stay healthy next season, we should have a good defense.  We need to draft WR, S, WR, in the first 3 rounds. Get a new kicker & try again.

He failed to adapt in the second half. Waited way too long. Not all on him, but needed to be more aggressive.

If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. Every team has injuries

I felt way worse after 13 seconds and cincy. KC was better than us and we fought and somehow had ball with chance to win it.  With the right changes, future is bright.

Yea. We gave the game away two years ago and we never turned up last year at all.

Tonight we competed like hell in a heavyweight contest and we had the plays right there to win at the end and we couldn't make them.

Tried to be optimistic but next year is going to be a really tough year.  This team for the first time in 7 years is going to have a 33% turnover of its players that are on the active roster.  That much is guaranteed.

You just get over it.  You either stop rooting for the team and give up or you get fired up for next season.

its a football game and we outplayed them.  We lost.  I don’t think the roster or the coaching was the problem tonight

Most of those players didn’t show up tonight, are on the wrong side of 30, and I couldn’t care less.

Daquan Jones is the only guy we need back.

I feel exactly the same way and was thinking this on the long drive home.  I might have to disconnect until training camp starts (or curtail my consumption of talking heads/media crap).  It’s the challenge of being a Bills fan but I have no choice but to take on that burden.  And I’ve been doing this for the last 45 years or so so I’m used to it.  :)
