Or maybe its the indiscriminate bombing campaign of Israel? Quote WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden on Tuesday warned that Israel was losing international support because of its “indiscriminate bombing” of Gaza, speaking out in unusually strong language just hours before the United Nations demanded a humanitarian cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. “Israel’s security can rest on the United States, but right now it has more than the United States. It has the European Union, it has Europe, it has most of the world supporting them,” Biden said to donors during a fundraiser Tuesday. “They’re starting to lose that support by indiscriminate bombing that takes place,” he said. https://apnews.com/article/biden-israel-hamas-oct-7-44c4229d4c1270d9cfa484b664a22071

Given any population of people, "women and children" make up about 65-75%. As a group, they'll account for the most of just about anything from tooth decay to civilian casualties. Hell, reduce it just to "women" and you'll still have a majority. 2 1

Among those not invited: American families who have relatives currently being held hostage by Hamas. sherpa
Biden now accuses Israel of "indiscriminate bombing." Not only senseless but it sends an ambiguous and confusing message about the US position on the conflict. Is it simply meant to placate the fringe elements in the party that control the agenda? Or for some other ears? Who knows for sure. And I don't expect the bombing and attacks are indiscriminate but rather based on intelligence and assessments of where the terrorists are staging operations. But what exactly did the administration think was going to happen as they pushed for billions in unconditional military assistance for Israeli's battle against a large and well armed terrorist group trapped in a confined space with several million civilians?

B-Man
Sullivan’s in Israel to do damage control, clearly. Biden’s false accusation that the IDF has conducted “indiscriminate” bombing angered Benjamin Netanyahu and foreign minister Eli Cohen and produced considerable backlash. The Israelis no doubt didn’t much appreciate getting lectured about military planning from Blinken and Lloyd Austin, two of the moral idiots behind Biden’s Kabul bug-out and abandonment of thousands of Americans to the Taliban. The White House seems to be belatedly realizing that they’re losing their influence in Jerusalem with these tactics. John Kirby got sent out to the press to walk back Biden’s campaign-event lies about the IDF before Sullivan’s visit: https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2023/12/14/israeli-defense-minister-to-biden-aide-well-take-all-the-time-we-need-to-destroy-hamas-n598999 1

IDF troops took the hostages for a threat and fired at them, the statement said. Later, “a suspicion arose over the identities of the deceased,” so the bodies were transferred to Israel, where they were confirmed to be Yotam Haim of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, Samer Talalka of Kibbutz Nir Am and a third hostage whose family requested that he not be identified.
