Please explain exactly how in terms that someone with common sense can understand enlighten us all because my glasses are nice & clean clear if you would & i compare from the recent past to today not o mention has Bidens approval pole came up from 38 percent yet ?

Once again if your gonna be dumb you gotta be tough you must be a pretty tough ombre Tibs .

But i will wait for your common sense reply to the first sentence ..

He isn't embarrassing the country, is moving real legislation to address real problems and he is conducting a foreign policy uniting "our" allies (democratic countries which are friends with the portion of this country into democracy, sorry authoritarian wannabes) and he isn't trying to draw all the attention to himself, refreshing!

Well given some of the stuff he said i can see to give you the statement of causing some embarrassment but not every one took every single freakin thing he said literally like you so you have to take that into consideration .

But what real registration ? If you mean repealing laws pertaining to the southern border seeing as the border is over whelmed with people waiting for those laws to go away so crossing and staying is easier & NO ONE in this administration is admitting it . Even after some have called for Mayorkas to be removed .

KABOOM !! NUMBERS AND ALL PUT THIS IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT !! I don't care what news outlet it is but i suppose they have access to these numbers why would they lie about it this is Bidens answer to a problem ? So if this is the type of thing your talking about this is great leadership at it's best .

And now i'm hereing things about a tax raise WTH is next ???

The silence to my last reply to this is defining !!

  • 2 weeks later...

A small faction of “never Kevin” Republicans is threatening to ensure McCarthy is denied the 218 votes needed to win the speaker’s election. But a larger group of Republicans who have pledged to vote for “only Kevin” are making clear they won’t support any other returning members of Congress for the role.

The two positions are seemingly irreconcilable, and members on both sides of the intra-party standoff predict the speaker’s election will require multiple ballots for the first time since 1923.

McCarthy and his allies are still trying to negotiate a truce that will allow him to get the votes he needs on the first ballot, but as of Friday afternoon no compromise had been reached.

hahaha.. republicans are idiots. They can’t even function like a majority when they have one. Maybe Nancy can coach them up on how to tack the whip…. Can’t stand her but she kept all the loose cannons in line and stifled objectors

I agree. Republicans act like they’ve never been the majority. They are a bunch of corrupt cowards. Unlike the left, who are corrupt bullies.

They both suck big time.

To be fair the GOP thought they’d have a much larger majority and McCarthy was minority speaker prior to the midterms.  The Dems flipped over 40 seats in 2018 with Pelosi in the same role so it was a fairly easy decision.

I guess Republicans are not serious about the border crisis.

Neither are you

The GOP needs to roll up its sleeves and put in the hard work of COMPROMISE. It's time to end this.  Get the grown-ups in a room and work this out.

Now you want compromise? Lol.

GTFO, comprise. After six plus years of attacking anyone who disagreed with your opinion.

Its interesting to see the countless tweets on Twitter thinking H Jefferies is going to be the majority speaker in the house cause of this vote.

Do schools even teach basic civics anymore?

Are you surprised?

Haven’t seen that but it’s both dumb and unsurprising. Civics education in this country is crap.

I take umbrage, Sir! I agree with people on this forum all the time.

But this little tiff has gone on long enough.  It's time for the adults in the room to come together and make a deal.

Welcome to day 1 of the GOP majority.  This is great theater.  Abysmal governing

It's democracy at its finest.  Not merely going in lockstep with someone who can raise the most money for you...

The GOP isn’t serious about governing anyway. They just want to put on a show.

So grab some popcorn and enjoy the mess.

it nihilism and petty, personal obstructionism.  It's setting personal ambition over the good of the country..  Good luck getting agreement from R's on anything important except investigating D's.  It shows weakness and division

As long as they can stop Joke's terrible policies, it's a win for the country.  Not much "governing" they can do with the Senate and Presidency controlled by Dems.

Again that's democracy.  The process will play itself out.

Im not really up to speed on beltway politics…What is the reasoning for not voting for McCarthy?

Too sane for the crazy caucus, too crazy for the moderates.

He’s a squish, just following the way the wind blows with no real backbone or principles. What does he actually stand for? He’s been anti-Trump, and pro-Trump, and condemning Trump, and then groveling to Trump.

You can negotiate with a guy like that to an extent, but you can’t really trust him not to throw you overboard the moment it’s politically convenient.
