Lie from a dubious source. Here’s the thread of Trump crapping on DeSantis.

It really doesn't matter. I mean everyone knows Trumps flaws. He is who he always has been and always will be.

However, just because DeSantis comes off as more polished and with less baggage, make no mistake he will be painted as the same nazi, racist threat to democracy as the great orange menace.

And if he wins the nomination. DeSantis will be equated to Trump. Zero difference, one in the same.

Since it's established fact that Trump is literally a nazi, racist threat to democracy.....well then there you'll have it.

DeSantis did great in the midterms. He is very conservative, but he also knows how to play the political game. Something Trump didn't do very well.

Of course.  But once you've made Trump to be Satan, everyone else is a henchman.

No argument. But he will be given the very same, if not worse,  24/7 Trump treatment.

The best part about Trump was 2016 when he beat Hillary. That was his peak. As much fun as it is watching liberals flail around like fish out of water over him, he is doing more damage than good at this point. But it's all been downhill from there.

Trump needs to get out of American politics and ride off into the sunset, as his style just isn't going to play with the general public. He's way too polarizing, way too much of a dick to effectively lead the country.

Go away Trump, and let the actual politicians do their thing.

My vote is for Dsanctimonious in '24

But Trump's win has created a pretty hard road ahead for any GOP candidate. Is DeSantis to anti-abortion to win the general election?

He will have to proclaim his hatred of abortion to win the GOP nomination, but that will kill him in the general election

Beyond predictable.  They need Trump.

They sure are enjoying the GOP infighting. How will McCarthy run the House with only a one or two seat majority?

Former President Trump claimed without evidence on Thursday that he sent federal agents to Florida in 2018 to keep the state’s gubernatorial election from being “stolen” from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

Trump said in a Truth Social post that he helped save DeSantis’s campaign and sent the FBI and U.S. attorneys to the state to stop voter fraud.

and it begins. Or wait it never ended. Hey did you guys see 2000 mules?   I guess when you are a moron that movie makes sense.

Yall are reading way too much into abortion.

If that’s what you want to run with, go for it.

You’re losing Hispanics at a bigger and bigger clips each election.  DeSantis has some very prominent Latino surrogates that get out vote for him, and constantly raging about abortion doesn’t play well in hispanic circles - according to polling.

Roe decision will have been almost two years behind us during the ramp up to the election, instead of months.

DeSantis, I believe, has signed 15 weeks.   That’s definitely not too mainstream for America, especially when he will likely take a Presidential position that the issue belongs to the states.

We’ll see what happens if the FL Leg sends him stricter limits, which I do believe he’s said he’s open to.

R’s need a strategy for abortion, as someone who’s pro-life, I’ll admit.. it can’t be what it has been in certain states post-Roe.   But I’m confident they will.   And again, the Presidential nominee can dodge it by saying it belongs to the states and he wont sign any national legislation on it.

Whitmer, Shapiro were elected, in part, to set abortion law for their states.  And they will.   And in states that have abortion law settled, this issue did not affect the GOP, at all.  FL, OH and TX are red, but purplish GA gave six week ban Kemp a landslide victory, and the GOP had their biggest congressional successes outside FL in NY, where abortion is codified into law.

And hand the 2024 Presidency to DeSantis on a silver platter?  I'll believe it when I see it.

Trump has reportedly conveyed to Walkers camp that if he brings in DeSantis and Youngkin, and relies on Kemp, he get zero help from Trump.

Haha, ok.. good.

Kemp is incredibly popular in Georgia, as is DeSantis, and Youngkin is basically every Republican in Buckhead/North Metro Atlanta.

Im sure Walker will really miss getting 10 cents on the dollar of every donation made to Trump’s PAC that was set up for Team Herschel.

Do you live in GA?

Im in Atlanta a lot.  I’d say, my guess right now… Warnock 60% chance, Walker 40%.

Kemp didn’t campaign with Walker much … Lending his get out the vote apparatus to Walker for the runoff is a pretty big deal.

For all the talk about Abrams making Dems competitive af in GA, Kemp took that challenge head on and has created a machine to rival it.

People in Georgia trust Kemp, and he’s going to campaign with Walker in some of the areas he’s been making GOP inroads with … specifically black men.

Warnock is the better candidate politically speaking.   More polished and the incumbent… but news just broke here today that his church may get subpoenaed due to them acting as slumlords in housing units they own.  He has his own baggage to sort out as well.. and if some of it is coming to light now.. not great timing.

Walker will get destroyed. Hard core GOPers might show up for him, but he is a disaster. The only reason he made it to runoff is that Kemp and others were running. He won't have that this time

They have zero integrity or intelligence. All cults come to an end after being abused endlessly by the leader. It’s ok. You’ll get over it.

What a joke. Trump doesn’t have a religious bone in his body. This is politicians trying to manipulate their religious followers to justify supporting a person in Trump who has no values or virtues.

That’s pretty harsh, and a bit extreme.  His children certainly seem to love him, his wife as well.  He’s employed thousands of people, and in spite of you sitting in judgement there are people who see it differently.

Be that as it may, the political arena is probably the last place you want to look for people that share your particular views on honor and values.

Would a Joe Biden be the type of person with “values and virtue”?  He seems to have issues pretty much across the board, no? Yet, publications, newspapers and groups pimp him as the go-to candidate.  Why is this any different?

I probably shouldn’t judge others, especially those with mental illness like narcissism. None of us really knows any of the politicians but I know Biden is Catholic and he has spoken often about how important his faith is to him. He has spoken about how his faith has helped him through incredibly difficult times in his life. In contrast, Trump gives appears to only care about himself. His scandals even before his political life are well documented. Employing others is what he does to make money, not that there is anything wrong with that. Him being an employer is irrelevant to his individual morality.

Anyway, my comment was referring to politicians spouting off about how Trump was sent by God. Does even Mike Pence believe that?

Possible Scenarios:

  • Trump wins the nomination. Republicans get drubbed.
  • DeSantis gets the nomination, almost impossible unless Trump is convicted and jailed.
  • The most unlikely, but funniest: DeSantis gets the nomination and Trump forms the Trump Party, leaving the Republican Party in rubble.
