Was channel surfing and I saw something that might satisfy  football junkies.

Opener right now on ESPN2- Montreal Alouettes at Toronto Argonauts. 11-6 at the half.

Correction-Says it is week 2 of the season.

The massive gap at the line of scrimmage is perplexing. Like there’s an entire yard of space between the OL and DL. Seems QB sneaks would work all the time

Sort of a gimme on shortage football.  I guess with 3 downs instead of 4 they're saying a 3rd and 1 is the competitive equivalent of "close enough."

Duke Williams shows as being out for tonight's visit to Edmonton; ankle injury.  Might be a cover story, as a department manager at Canadian Tire Southland Mall (Regina, SK), he had to cover that kid who went to Scout camp.

QB Chad Kelly getting some playing time right now on ESPN2.

Very rough first CFL series for Kelly.   Takes a bad checkdown for 2 yards,  misses a throw on second down,  and then gets blasted from behind for a sack to turn it over on downs and gets up and motions at the receiver like he was supposed to cut off his route.   I wish the kid luck but even if the overall talent on the field isn't nearly comparable to the NFL the CFL game is an adjustment for QB's coming from the US game.   He's going to have to show enough and be enough of a good teammate to stick around for a season or two so he has a chance to establish himself.

I just want to call out/thank you for putting the date in the thread title.

Little irks me more than when people title thread like, "Josh Allen On GMFB Today," and don't put a date.

Gracias.

I found the USFL more entertaining then watching a great NFL team vs a poor one. The USFL QBs are about the same level as a low level backup but at least the defenses are the same level.

Like Bills v. Jags?

That was the first live Bills game I had seen in 16 years so bringing that up was inappropriate. But every football game is more entertaining then that one was, every player on both sides was terrible except the other Josh Allen

Hamilton now 0-4.  OK, now  you can circle the wagons.

Hamilton has blown a couple good leads already this season. Just blowing it.

In other news, former Bills RB/FB Tim Tindale "The Canadian Comet" is going into the Canadian Football HOF.

Kaiir Elam's uncle Matt Elam is still playing "safety" (defensive halfback?) in the CFL.

Good for Tim Tindale.   His part in throwing dirt on Shula's professional grave will always be appreciated.

A buddy of his told me Tindale was living the fine life on a small lake north of Toronto and still rooting for the Bills.

One of @Bob Lamb all time favorite Bills.

IIRC. That was the game where Thurman plowed into Fish DC Tom Olivadotti on the sidelines.

"On December 30, 1995, Buffalo broke the league record for rushing yards in a game with 341, winning 37–22. This was Shula's last game in the NFL."

July 10, 2022:  Ti-cats did not lose this week in CFL action.  (Bye week. 😁)

In other league action, Duke Williams was good for a TD and a 4 reception game against Ottawa on Friday night.  I wonder if his good play is attributed to the fact his Canadian Tire on Thursday unloaded a shipping container of footballs shipped 'bulk'. 🤔

"On my first day of mini-camp, Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy came up to me and knew my name and all my stats. He was the head coach and he knew everything about me." (Levy had coached in the Canadian Football League for a period in the late 1970s and early 1980s.) Tindale had gained television exposure in Buffalo through CHCH-TV's broadcast of Ontario university football, which had made him a "cult hero" of sorts in the station's broadcast area.

Tindale scored his first career rushing touchdown on December 30, 1995, in a playoff game against the Miami Dolphins. His Western University coach, Larry Haylor, said he remembers watching Tindale's first NFL touchdown while on vacation. "We were huddled around a 7-inch TV screen. Tim broke a run for 44 yards and my wife and I were jumping up and down, cheering and screaming. People came storming into our room to see what was wrong." Haylor also said "I always said Tim would be the guy I would pick first if I had to choose a team. At 5'11", 220 [pounds], he had very unusual talents. He's one of those guys who will give you his soul in effort."
