This team is built for a DOME-Bills kill another narrative

It's been obvious for the last couple years. Without a consistent run game, other than our franchise QB exposing himself, we are dependent on Josh being clean and and accurate in tough conditions. A tip,a windblown pick and we could lose to a heavy run, less talented team. With perfect conditions, we're top 3 in the leagues

Sure, if you ignore every other benefit to having a dome too...

That's the thing though, additional benefits actually exist. What are the benefits of no dome? What about fans themselves? Do you honestly believe the majority of people prefer to sit in crappy weather?

Not many based on the $10 tickets that can be had today and next week.

It's not that.

It's that the rules for football as we enter the 22nd century are leading to the construction of teams built to play fast, untouched, and in domes.

That isn't changing.

You can't build a team around the "elements" of your home city.

Apparently Terry Pegula disagrees.

OK, then why talk about the current offense to think about the next 50 years?    You are thinking ahead with other peoples money though....

You are already spending $1.5B. What's another half bil for a stadium that will enhance the team and the fan experience? Let me remind you "the future" is 5 years from now. We expect Josh Allen to be our QB for another 15 years. You don't want to give Josh a nice place to throw?

Yeah if costs were no object I would be in favor of an retractable roof. Put Allen in ideal conditions for remainder of his career. Weather is no longer an advantage with the players of today. If Atlanta wasn’t terrible could have turned ugly quick.

It is a half a billion, what do you think that is exactly, pocket change?   And where does it come from?   Start a gofund me, come up with a million, you will still be 499 million short.

I really don’t think Josh is the pinpoint finesse passer people think he is. He gives you more of an edge outside than in perfect conditions imo. They just need the offense to add more big and physical WRs. Image AJ Brown or DK Metkalf on this team instead of the Smurfs.

Domes reduce the edge strong arms give you over the opponent imo.

Wind equalizes everything.  It doesn't matter how tall your wrs are.

It's only going to cost more when you come back three years later and ask for a roof to be added on.

Even though $2B might be accurate, it's a kick in the nuts knowing so many other teams got beautiful, state of the art, domed stadiums for significantly less than that (even adjusted for inflation)...  And they didn't have to stick them in the middle of nowhere to save on price either.

But the Bills have to pay MORE than those teams, for a smaller stadium, and make sure it's built away from any meaningful developments, ensuring there's zero opportunity for any additional economic benefit (no, I'm not talking about overall "net profit vs public funds," which we know is a loss).

Circling back, let's not act like 1) the NFL isn't geared towards the passing game, 2) Allen doesn't have many years left, 3) the most successful this team has been in 3 decades has been when we had a good passing offense.... Perhaps we should lean into that?

How many years did we listen to new HC press conferences where they'd talk about a commitment to the run & a strong defense, blah blah blah? Every. Single. Time. They all failed. They tried building those teams REPEATEDLY, but it took one good QB to finally escape that, and suddenly = playoffs. Coincidence?

The funny thing is to take a look at the Bills drafting record over the years with regard to QBs.

It's like we weren't even trying to find a good one.

Actually that's the ONLY reason we still have the Bills, so I'd chalk that up to a smart decision.

Things have changed, public support for these types of things has gone down a lot.  The game is a lot more profitable now than in 1970 even if you adjust for inflation.    California has lost support for these and have lost teams as a result so I get what you are saying....but advocating for a much more expensive option so a couple games a year are in a better environment seems irresponsible unless the Pegula's are self funding....or some random fan pony's up the "extra half a bil"
