Too bad 3 Presidents prior to that were not.  And the one after.  Along with social, political and business elites being bought off.  Threatening our democracy.

Ah so Conald’s half baked trade war with China failed as expected.

Once again - a GOP administration handing off an absolute shitzhow to a dem administration.

Sure if you want to believe that's what happened and continue living in your alternate reality then good for you.

Meanwhile I'm guessing Russia will want some land in the east of Ukraine and I'm not sure anyone has the ability to reasonably challenge that demand.

The ability is there. The will is lacking

Sure as hell isn't a game. Kyiv is about to be leveled, thousands could be killed and we sit and watch and hope...ok

It’s tragic, but we also need to make sure hundreds of thousands, if not more, don’t die in a nuclear war.

Also, the only reason you don’t feel the same way about people in Ethiopia or Yemen is because the media hasn’t told you to care and they don’t look like you.

At this point surrender is beyond doubt. The only questions left are what do the terms of surrender look like and what does an isolated Russia on the world stage look like? Can the West reasonably keep up the sanctions? If you're worried about your home energy bill this winter I got bad news about next winter if this all keeps up.

The Russians invaded thinking Ukraine would throw flowers and women on their tanks while they drove to Kyiv, shot Zelensky, and installed some stooges.

They have no plan for an occupation, they have no plan for an insurgency.  They have a stock market they don't dare open, and a currency that's worthless.

Unless they plan on using surface to surface missiles, thermobaric rocket launchers, and waves of tanks to fight a COIN operation, they'll have to retool a substantial portion of their army away from a laser focused mission of fighting NATO conventionally.  Or they could just start slaughtering their Slavic, orthodox christian brothers until they realizing how much Ukraine missed Russian domination.

It’s tragic and preventable. Putin’s terrified of getting covid. Sounds like a brave guy.

And your silly argument that we should ignore this because of media coverage is pathetic

Tibs…let’s try and keep it at least somewhat grounded to reality.

What do you think he’s doing blasting cities and bring up more fire power to crush them further. He’s already done this to cities

Never said we should ignore this.

There’s a lot of room between “do nothing” and “unleash the nukes”.

That sure looks like the plan now

Maybe we could go back to becoming energy independent and actually hit Russia where it hurts before we threaten war.. just a thought.

Im all for green/renewable energy, but we’re not there yet.  Keep investing in the future, while securing our country in the present.

We can sanction Russia all we want, but until the Western world stops giving him billions of dollars per day for oil, he will just wait it out.   On top of that, he is also negotiating larger oil deals with China, India and Pakistan.

We can’t sanction his oil, because we need it.  Biden can’t risk $6/gallon gas because it’s political suicide, so we’ll talk tough about Russia, while letting them pollute the environment with their oil production as we help fund his war.

Umm geography lesson.  If Russia takes over Ukraine they WILL have NATO on their border. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't think the plan is to annex all of Ukraine.

I also don't think the plan is to install stooges in Ukraine. Putin has flexed what he needed to. Now it's a matter of annexing a section of land that isn't "Russian" in the ethnic sense as a buffer between Russia and NATO.

As far as the economic thing goes...again I don't think anyone can reasonably tell us what it all means long term. There are long-term consequences to holding that line indefinitely.
