Happy Veterans Day to all Bills Nation Veterans

A Happy Veteran's Day to all those who served and are currently serving here.

Thank you for all that you do for this country and the people who live here. You have far more courage than I.

My dad is a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy, and I'll be spending the day with him, helping him get all his free stuff today. :D

Let's not forget that this was originally Armistice Day, the end of World War I.

MUCH of it is good.

Thanking the 10 family members who served today!

2 Air Force, 2 Navy, 3 Army, 3 Marines.
Ooh Rah!

i corrected my over site.

I know that they did good.

I meant anything that caused them suffering

Thanks for not being too Cantankerous

REMF!

Doesn't matter. We all had a job to do. When you sign that contract, you're in for the ride ... Anything from peace time REMF to front line infantry in combat. It's all a crap shoot.

I try not to say Happy ... you're right, it's odd. But it's an expression of respect for all who have served and it's sincerely appreciated.

I understand what you are saying. I think it is more in celebration of being part of something noble in spirit and greater than one's self. I think there are certain professions, like the military, law enforcement, firefighters, etc., that embody a sense of selflessness and sacrifice for a greater good. The overwhelming majority of men and women in those professions do what they do for all the right reasons and understand there is always the potential for instances where the outcome isn't good, in terms of injury, loss of life, trauma, etc., (and some instances of dealing with the consequences of people themselves within these professions who aren't good). Yet they do it anyway. There is something special about that. I am happy to have been even a small part of that.

And I know you weren't saying anything that was critical or disrespectful. I know what you meant. Just trying to put what I feel into words.

I felt the same way when people would say Happy Anniversary to me while I was still married.

To all my brothers and sisters who served, anywhere, any time, and in whatever capacity:

I pray that our collective sacrifice (and that of our families) in some way made the world safer, and our countrymen more secure.

A keen edged sword, a soldiers heart

Is greater than a poet's art

And greater than a poet's fame

A little grave that has no name

Happy Veterans Day to all who served and sacrificed. RIP Dad. RIP Chuck. Miss you both so much it aches a little bit every day. Your lives meant the world to me. Your service meant everything to a grateful nation. Love and gratitude always!

And the reunions are great.

Spent last Thurs-Sunday at my Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School reunion.

Our 45th class anniversary.

Did it on Pensacola Beach at the Blue Angels end of season homecoming airshow.

Saw the F-35 and F-22 demos as well as the Blues.

Had many conversations with guys who were involved in those projects after getting off active duty.

Tremendous comradery and great food/stories.

Also allowed me to miss the debacle in Jacksonville.

I feel the same.

Even more so with Happy Memorial Day.

So....my heartfelt thank you to all those who had served and still are serving ❤🇺🇲

I got a stern lecture about "Happy" from a co-worker a few years back. He proceeded to tell me about the friends he had lost.

Maybe a Blessed Veterans Day is better, but that does not suit everyone.
