The tipping point for capitalists is when private citizens start their own space programs, while the tipping point for socialists is when money starts becoming worthless.

How is it possible that we're hitting both at the same time?

If there was a tipping point/canary in the coal mine for being too far on the side of capitalism I'd say it's when corporations become people. On the socialism side I'd guess it's when it stifles innovation/drive.

Well, I understand what you’re saying...but I think people tend to confuse being a capitalist with big government handouts (not socialism), and and being a socialist, where the state controls the means of production and distribution, as well as dictating the means of individual citizens of a society...

”Democratic” Socialists have worked tirelessly, over the years, to blur the lines between the two...

Europe, for example, has high taxes, and spends a lot on government handouts- but they are not socialist...👍

In what way?

Capitalist and Socialist aren't a coin where you're either on one side or the other, there is so much room in between and we do ourselves a serious disservice not to recognize that.

I am sorry but you are wrong, government is necessary but you either feel it is the best arbiter of resources or you realize it sucks at allocation of anything that it is in charge. A true capitalist feels that the government is meant to create the rules we abide by but not choose winner and losers. Socialists think government should choose winner and losers. Do you think that praising the govt choosing some of the winners makes you not a socialist?

There is not just pro government and anti government there is a whole spectrum in between and like a lot of things the best place is in the middle not on the edges. I mean I don't think a privately funded military, police, fire, or transportation department is a good idea but I also don't think the government should run Wal-Mart. I really wish we wouldn't be so black and white on this because it destroys all possibility of debate to try and actually improve things.

what ever the outcome republicans better, do something!!! dont sit there and wag your finger and think simply blocking radical left sh** is enough. the left has gone so far any gains are just a result of their insane over reach, not any republican agenda. imo

they better step it up with something better then a lower taxes and bootstraps agenda or its just a huge lost opportunity to remake the party that acctually captures the culture from the years of smears they been on the $#[+ end of. and i see the pendulum swinging back quickly.

The GOP just made double digit gains in Virginia on the back of “cultural issues.”

There’s still like 30 percent left to count in Essex, some in Somerset, and early votes, so it looks to be. There aren’t any areas left where Jack can make gains.

Even if Murphy wins, why do you think it was as close as it was?

And why do you think that Bergen went the way it did?

NJ is a contrarian state that likes balance of power. The party out of power usually takes the Governor seat.

You can’t have a productive debate with people who are unwilling and/or unable to differentiate between social democracy and democratic socialism.

Congratulations to Byron Brown last night, I guess. Childhood poverty in Buffalo rose to 45% during his four terms in office, as he continued funneling most of the city’s financial resources into downtown development. Hurrah for trickle-down economics!

But whatever. In time, progressives will have our revenge. The 2022 Democratic Party primaries are going to be an absolute bloodbath. Here in NYC, I know it’s going to be like the opening scene of Scorsese’s “Gangs of New York.” Hell-Cat Maggie? Meet Hell-Cat Kay.

White, racist Karen voters have been the problem, and until they stop being racist Karen’s, the country can’t really move forward.

The numbers are clear but no one wants to talk about it.
