This.  The Republican Party used to stand for honesty, integrity, and fiscal responsibility.  Now it stands for hoaxes, philandering, lies, weakness on Russia, tax increases on American consumers, and a MFing insurrection.

Don't get too excited.

Biden is completely incompetent.

All of the GOP should stay home and not participate in this fake election.  Chew on some Ivermectin, turn on OAN, send a care package to the QAnon guy with the horns, and move on to the next thing.

He really stood up to Putin.  Hoax.

Biden should gather up all the illegals and have a kumbaya moment at the southern borer for all the votes he'll get after allowing them in with little to no covid testing while mandating vaccines for the rest of us .

Then paying them $450k a piece for being here illegally then him and the rest of the libs in Cali, Portland, new york, Seattle, Chicago, Minnesota, Michigan, can get together and have a party to celebrate 3 yrs of BS from how good the fake dossier worked for Hillary and company .

Then they can all get together and give Biden a award for the most ever executive orders in the first 100 days in office to screw up as many things as possible in that time .

Then give praise CNN for passing around the BS that they served up for 3+ yrs and also thank Antifa and the other groups paid to go to different cities to do peaceful protests across the US to cause turmoil like this latest one they sent to look like a white supremacist group .

Also Biden with his executive orders can be thankful now that by removing some sanctions on Russia allowed them to finish their pipeline so we can buy oil from them to off set the demand that OPEC won't give us .

Plus the fact we can give him props for pissing off Canada for stopping the pipe line after they spent all that money on product to build & then going and screwing France and Australia on the submarine deal and after that celebrate his fore though on the way he got those marines killed dam i mean those people out of Afghanistan .

It's always best when you screw over some of your closest allies oh and while he's at it he can go and give some more cash back to Iran so they can stop producing plutonium . They can look to Zuckerberg to invest another half a billion to influence those on the fence of how they should vote and then both sides will be even with how they screw us over .

So you agree about fake elections.   Got it.

I personally think it's time for Trump to just get out of politics.  He stirs up too many @$$holes on the fringes of BOTH parties and gives them a voice they otherwise wouldn't have.  He also has this really weird affect on otherwise normal center left people, where they go bat$#it crazy whenever the guy does or says anything.

Personally, I'd like to see an guy like John Huntsman come back on the scene, and run with a moderate dem on the independent ticket.

I actually agree with part of the first paragraph.  Right or left, we agree on far more than we realize. I’ve long believed that this country won’t heal until the clintons and trump are absent from the public eye.

Interestingly, he is no where to be seen in Virginia. Trump is not wanted there

By “Trump on the ticket” do you mean a Trump-JFK Jr ticket? Or will it be JFK Jr on top?

hey, has anyone spotted a Deranged Rhino in Dallas lately?

Unfortunately JFK Jr. saw his shadow looks like 3 more years of Biden.

Trump running again is a terrible idea for Republicans he'd do more to energize the voters for his opponent than himself.

Amen.

I don't live in Virginia, so I'm not sure how I would have voted if their gubernatorial election directly impacted me. But ... sometimes it takes a good whipping for the party in power to be dragged back toward the middle. I happen to believe that the post-1994 Bill Clinton administration came closest to hitting the spot where most Americans live. Maybe we can see something like that happen again?

Ya. Right after Clinton moved David Gergen in and First Lady Hillary was slowly pushed out of the policy business.

I do live in Virginia and Virginia will be just fine.

Another thing I agree with.  You know why I hate Trump?  Because he'a liar.  Because he's unstable.  Because he a narcissist.  Because he's bad for business.  Because he's a divider.  He's exactly the personality type that should be nowhere near a position of public trust.  And you know why a lot of center right and beyond people now hate Democrats?  Because of Bill Clinton, who is outwardly a little more stable and much less of a divider but inwardly the same selfish, impulsive, narcissistic liar.

Most of us here agree on more than we realized.  I'm center left, others  may not be.  But maybe we're moving back toward a point where (not necessarily in this forum, but generally), we can start to find common ground.  Stop demonizing each other (I think it's more Republicans demonizing Democrats, but Trump supporters have been subject to similar treatment, right or wrong), start compromising, and let's figure this thing out.

In an optimum solution, the Dems flush Biden/Harris in 2024 and both parties put up decent candidates for a change.  I do favor Nikki Haley and Tulsi Gabbard, though I think Tulsi's out as a serious candidate.  I would also support DeSantis after kicking the tires a bit more.  Dems are harder for me because of all the socialism.  Any Biden replacement will be much farther left, I fear.

I voted for Trump the first time and I liked what he was doing with trade, getting us out of wars, negotiating freely and bringing companies back in, etc.  It's just his ego and narcissism blew up and he's unelectable in my eyes.  No way I could vote for him the second time and all his BS shenanigans post-election proved why.  He was and has his own swamp and it's not better than the current one.

We need somebody closer to center to stand tall and make the tough decisions like Trump without the rest of his sewer rat personality.

(first time dipping my toe in these waters).

Fair point Frankish and don't disagree per se but, having been operational in the national security realm for many years, my view is we are institutionally well past 94.

And, as I'm sure you know, most/all(?) of the good stuff passed under a R-lead House.

Anyway, to the point: DJT was the person needed at that time and place. An apex predator willing to fight the establishment.

For context: I'm a non-R, non-mouth breathing conservative. I agreed w most DJT policies, for which he doesn't get enough credit.

My bottom line: DJT should throw his full weight behind DeSantis. I know Haley a bit personally; I like her but she's a bit too "squishy" for my tastes.

And here lies the problem.  All of the socialism.  Just another right wing lie.  What is socialism?  Medicare? Social security?  Last I checked, that’s socialism.  So if you’re against that, then that’s fine.

Otherwise, you’re painting with a broad brush and engaging in a logical fallacy.  All democrats are not socialists.  A majority of them probably are not, in pint of fact.  Just like all republicans are not liars, and all Trumpers are not traitorous racist insurrectionists.

I often vote R but not always, I am not a big Trump fan.

I agreed with nearly all of his policies and am very strongly in favor of his changes to immigration and taxation (especially the cap on the SALT deduction).

I feel his ego was large, for a large percentage of Americans he is unlikeable, and his comments were divisive.  He was unable to work with the D's regarding anything.  His constant mocking of the media took valuable time away from more important topics that required the nations attention.  His fixation on the bogus Russian scandal allowed it to remain in the headlines throughout his presidency.  He was foolish to make the media an enemy as they worked against him so continuously that broadcasts turned into anti-Trump advertisements.  In the 2020 election this was detrimental to him along with many R's down ticket.

I will be happy to see a new face on the GOP ticket in 2024!

Huntsman is a neo-con like the Lincoln project. That’s what the fight has been about.

Trump and fringe white nationalists vs. Neo-cons.

Who wins in the end?

After Tuesday, the Neo cons.  And, I hope, compromise.  America moved back to the center.  Voters told the fringes that they're sick of the BS.  Particularly independents, who starkly illustrated their rejection of Trump in Virginia.

I'm a center left D, and I will never vote for a Trumper.  Ever.  For the rest of my life.  I strongly disagree about the "bogus" nature of the Russia investigation.  Read Part II of the Mueller report.  But I agree with your thought about the need for compromise.  Reagan used to say that getting 80% of what one wants is a win.  We need to return to those days.
