NY Gov Kathy Hochul declares state of emergency amid new COVID variant

 

The governor of New York on Friday declared a state of emergency as COVID transmission reached rates not seen since April 2020, while warning that the troubling new variant of COVID that first emerged in Botswana is 'coming'.

 

Earlier on Friday, the U.S. banned flights from eight Southern African countries to try and prevent the mutant strain, Omicron, from arriving.

 

Kathy Hochul, the Empire State governor, said that all non-urgent procedures could be postponed beginning December 3 if the hospital's capacity falls dangerously low.

 

 

She also issued a declaration of disaster emergency, noting that COVID transmission is at a level not seen since April 2020. The declaration unlocks sweeping powers for her to take emergency measures, without the usual state congressional approval.

 

'We continue to see warning signs of spikes in COVID this winter, and while the new Omicron variant has yet to be detected in New York State, it's coming,' Hochul tweeted.

With patients with 2 shots still ending up in the hospital it must be wearing off after about 6 months . Don't know what other risk factors are involved. In WNY hospitalizations are indeed spiking with reported up to 12 hour waits at some Buffalo ERs. The results of Holiday gatherings are too soon to be here already.

 

It looks like boosters will continue to be needed for high risk.

Let’s just say they aren’t nearly as effective as we are told, we are in same a spot as we have ever been. Vulnerable are at risk, most people are at very little   risk of having to go to hospital, our immune systems will adjust, and Covid is never going away. 
 

Take a gander at India’s numbers with less than 20 % vaxed as of a month ago.

3CL Protease inhibitors and other viral treatments along with immunity boosters and supplements like Vitamins C & D, Zinc, L-Lysine.  It's not that the vaccines don't work.  The problem is efficacy wears off over time and as the virus mutates current vaccine formulas becomes less effective.  And while they slow down the spread of the virus, they don't stop the spread since vaccinated people can still infect other people.   Viral mutations tend to become more infectious over time but the good news is the also become less fatal.  I also keep saying take a look at what India did with an Ivermectin + treatment vitamin kit but nobody wants to hear about that $2.65 solution they implemented with success.
