'Take these m-----f-----s out': Rutgers prof rails against white people while defending CRT

Professor Brittney Cooper called Critical Race Theory “the proper teaching of American history” and said that white people are “committed to being villains in the aggregate.”

Debunking Critical Race Theory – The False Claim that “Racism is Ordinary”

by Kenny Xu     Saturday, August 6, 2022

Amongst Critical Race Theory (CRT) scholars there is one belief that is practically universal: the idea that racism is both ordinary and permanent in a society.

Critical Race Theorists Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic write in Critical Race Theory: An Introduction that “racism is ordinary, not aberrational- ‘normal science,’ the usual way society does business.”  It is the idea that racism is baked into the very foundation of our society; the idea that, structurally, this country was designed specifically for the success of the white demographic; the idea that, despite hard work and dedication, minority groups will always run into white-dominated roadblocks because they are attempting to work within a system built against them.

This claim is emotional. It is jarring.  It makes both minorities and white people question their places in society.  For the minority, it can sow distrust in the government, our corporate ladder, and our systems of education.  For the white person, it can insinuate strong feelings of guilt – of benefitting from a rigged system.  The claim is severe.  But what about the facts?

{snip}

CRT is not the answer. Attributing all our problems to “ordinary” systemic racism is not the answer.  Believing that such issues are permanent and ordinary is not the answer. So what is the answer? Examining the facts, pursuing the truth, and not assuming the worst. Before we turn to CRT as the racial guiding framework for our lives and scholarship, let’s switch out our emotional glasses for our logical ones.

Kenny Xu is the President of Color Us United, which advocates for a raceblind America in the midst of racial division. He is the author of An Inconvenient Minority which exposes racial discrimination against Asian Americans at elite colleges like Harvard and Yale.

"CRT is a right wing myth"

ONLY RACISTS NEED APPLY

I don’t know that there has ever been a place and time in American history when only racists were permitted to teach in the public schools. Mississippi in, say, 1935? I don’t know, maybe. But to my knowledge they had no purity test. Contrast that with Minnesota in 2022, where the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board is considering a new standard that would only allow people who profess racist doctrines to be certified to teach in the state.

My colleague Catrin Wigfall explains:

As first reported by American Experiment in May, the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) appointed by Gov. Tim Walz is proposing changes to teacher licensure programs that would require aspiring educators to “demonstrate” ideologically driven content in their coursework to obtain their teaching license.

PELSB’s proposed amendments to the state’s licensure rule (R-4615) for teachers — even if they will teach at a private school — include adding a “Racial Consciousness and Reflection” standard to what Minnesota educators “must embody in order to effectively teach all of Minnesota’s students” (referred to as Standards of Effective Practice).

The sub-standards within “Racial Consciousness and Reflection” and other proposed rule changes within RD4615 are dripping with Critical Race Theory, gender ideology, and identity politics.

How bad are these new standards for racial instruction? These quotes from the new standard come from American Experiment’s Instagram account (@MNThinkTank), which I encourage you to follow if you are on Instagram:

Screen-Shot-2022-08-23-at-7.13.25-PM.png

So the bottom line is, if this plan goes through you will not be licensed to teach in Minnesota, including teaching in a private school, unless you subscribe to a racist, anti-American, far-left ideology.

And it will go through, unless citizens rise up and demand sane education.

{snip}

You may think this is so shocking that it couldn’t happen in your community, but you would be wrong. This kind of thing is going on across America, driven largely by the teachers’ unions, which are racist and grotesquely anti-American. These initiatives are being promoted just about everywhere, and they will succeed unless sane Americans mobilize to defeat them.

Their heart is in the right place wanting equality, but as the left always does good intentions are militarized into fanatical doctrine…

I believe it was also up that way they very openly said due to budget cuts there would be staff reduction but skin color superseded tenure and seniority in who was eliminated.  They put that in writing.

This is because they reject God, and therefore have no wisdom, because they think they are God- and that they can solve everything themselves…

Leftists, Progressives, Socialists, Communists, whatever they want to claim is their ideology reject God and religion because to embrace either would conflict with the primary tenant of their dogma.  And that is the belief that there is no power greater than "The State".  That being, God cannot exist.  Because to admit to the existence and domain of God over everything would be to admit their ideology is flawed.  They believe there are no natural rights granted to all people by God or any divine power of natural law.  For them, the concept of God-given rights is a dangerous idea that must be suppressed and challenged.  There are only rights and privileges granted by The State that can be revoked at the whim of The State.

I sent this to a Dutch friend of mine.  She said the same is happening there.  She said only 50% of the children there read at their current grade level.

Those that have been saying CRT is not a problem?  This is exactly what I have been talking about since it came out.  These types of woke curriculum are pushing aside what children need to be learning to be successful.  We have 50% of Americans 19-26 living at home.  If this is what we are teaching children I can only think of what that number will be in the future when kids in school today go out looking for work.

What I do know is that the CRT panic is a made up phenomenon by a right-wing activist who sought to brand anything around race as CRT:

We can certainly debate about when/if it is appropriate to teach kids certain subjects, but elementary school kids are not learning actual CRT.

It is being taught in Bellevue, Washington.

Quote

Five schools in the Bellevue School District teach “Race in the United States” as an elective. The curriculum for the class is the same across all schools.

According to the course description, these classes teach students “themes of social construction of race, movements as a catalyst for change, culture inclusion, institutionalized racism, and equity and social justice policy.” The classes are intended to give students the tools to discuss left-wing views on race and use progressive world view to be leaders in the community.

A Bellevue High School student’s mother shared with the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH an assignment she says teacher Lukas Michener assigned to his class. It’s the introduction to the book “Critical Race Theory (Third Edition): An Introduction.”

“Unlike some academic disciplines, critical race theory contains an activist dimension. It not only tries to understand our social situation, but to change it; it sets out not only to ascertain how society organizes itself along racial lines and hierarchies, but to transform it for the better,” the book states.

Laughable response.

It says so much about you, not others

History is still being taught, sins and all, just as always.

But the recent propaganda push has been exposed.

ADDED: Please note how his "doesn't look like them" nonsense, shows his biased belief that African Americans, Asians, Latinos  and everyone else can't be Republicans.  Bigotry at it's basest.

Utah Educators and Union Officials Caught Boasting of Secretly Teaching CRT

by Catherine Salgado

“You teach it to a group of seniors at West Jordan High and they don’t tell their parents.”

Administrators, educators, and union officials in Utah were caught on video boasting about how they managed to keep teaching critical race theory or LGBTQ concepts to students, despite Utah’s bans on CRT in the classroom, according to a Jan. 27 tweet thread from Accuracy in Media. [Tweet] The Utah legislature passed two resolutions in May 2021 to ban CRT from schools, and the Utah Board of Education then approved similar restrictions in June 2021, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. Which apparently hasn’t stopped the more zealous pro-CRT

Historian takes first episode of Hulu’s 1619 Project APART in thread and SCHOOLS Nikole Hannah-Jones

Maybe Hulu should just put their 1619 Project under fiction?

That’s what it sounds like after reading this thread from an actual historian who was good enough to sit through the first episode of The 1619 Project and correct everything Nikole Hannah-Jones got wrong. This whole ‘history’ is fictional …

Sorry, not sorry.

We hope Hannah-Jones comes across this thread and learns a thing or two about ACTUAL history. Heck, Hulu too.

Reminder:

If “most people” lack “any real concept of what critical race theory is,” then why don’t Democrats and others communicate the information?

Instead, as Blow describes in his column, Republicans use the term to generate anxiety about what those terrible left-wingers want to do to us.

I challenge proponents of Critical Race Theory to speak to ordinary people in terms they can understand and explain the theory, why it’s a theory, and what is meant by “critical.” Don’t just tell us conclusions and demand that we accept them and don’t just introduce another confusing term.

That is, don’t just say that there is “systemic racism.” Explain the theory and what is critical about the theory.

Why can’t that be done clearly and straightforwardly? People are right to feel anxious and suspicious about something so big and powerful that can’t be talked about. To say “In fact, I don’t even believe that most people have any real concept of what critical race theory is” is to blame the people for failing to understand what isn’t being discussed clearly. That’s perverse and elitist.

Well, most “woke” stuff is perverse and elitist. And Critical Race Theory can’t be discussed clearly and straightforwardly because if it were, the vast majority of people would reject it.

Hence the smoke and mirrors and charges of bigotry aimed at critics in place of reasoned argument.
