THIS SHOULD SURPRISE NO ONE WHO’S BEEN PAYING ATTENTION:

Analytics show Democrats twice as radical, GOP more moderate.

To hear Democrats talk about Republicans, it’s pretty easy to get the impression that they are all right-wing rabble-rousers made more conservative after the presidencies of Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.

The top Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), for example, this week ranted about having to work with unbending “terrorists” across the aisle. . . .

But it’s not the Republicans who have radicalized over the past 50 years, but the Democrats, and by a huge margin, according to a deep dive into the latest CPAC ratings.

In one of the biggest surprises revealed since the ratings began, there are twice as many Democrats with perfect zero conservative ratings in the House and Senate today than in 1971. And there are significantly fewer Republicans with 100% ratings in the House and Senate today than 51 years ago.

The just-published 52nd Ratings of Congress from CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability found 14 House members and just three senators — Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Mike Braun (R-IN) — with 100% ratings on the issues the group cares about. In 1971, there were 61 perfect House Republicans and 11 100% senators, including conservative giants Barry Goldwater of Arizona, New York’s James L. Buckley, and South Carolina’s Strom Thurmond.

The CPAC report found Democrats much more moderate decades ago. In 1971, there were 23 senators with zero ratings on the CPAC report card of conservative issues. Today there are 38, more than half the Democratic Caucus. In the House, there were 39 perfect liberal voters in 1971 compared to 76 today. Plus, there are dozens of House liberals with a 3% rating.

CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp said the analytics show that many Republicans come to Washington and face-plant into the swamp’s deep end over time.

Makes sense…Gender and racist ideologies tends to make people extremists…👍

More on the above:

PARTY OF YOUTH UPDATE:

Sheldon Whitehouse: Dianne Feinstein Should Not Resign No Matter What Because We Need Judges Confirmed.

“The fact is simple: if Senator Feinstein resigns, Mitch McConnell gets to decide whether Democrats have a Senate Judiciary majority.”

DianneFeinstein-ReturntoSenate1.jpg

Poor Diane.

Stupid B-Man, the leftists at PPP say, Gov. Newsome would just appoint another Democrat instantly.

Now one would think that with California Gov. Gavin Newsom being a Democrat, that appointing a temporary replacement for Feinstein would happen rather quickly. But if that happened, that person wouldn’t just automatically replace Feinstein on the committees on which she serves; they would also have to be voted on by the full Senate:

Senators are formally elected to standing committees by the entire membership of the Senate, but in practice each party conference is largely responsible for determining which of its members will sit on each committee.

So Senator Feinstein will not be permitted to resign.

They're Spelling 'Democrats' Wrong

By Susie Moore

It struck me today that many on the left – in particular, elected officials and legacy media outfits – are misspelling a key word – a label that many of them claim and cling to.

We’re told over and over that anything and everything aligned with anyone right of center is “a threat to democracy.”

  • Billionaires not taxed enough? A threat to democracy.
  • Reducing the regulatory state? A threat to democracy.
  • Enforcing our sovereign border? A threat to democracy.
  • Seeking energy independence? A threat to democracy.
  • Cooking on a gas stove? A threat to democracy.
  • Defending the Bill of Rights? A threat to democracy.
  • Championing free speech? A threat to democracy.
  • Pushing for election integrity? A threat to democracy.
  • Ron DeSantis? The biggest threat to democracy – since Donald Trump.

Actually, I’m pretty sure if you asked them, electing any Republican presents a threat to democracy.

But the thing is – it isn’t democracy (with a cy) those things threaten. It’s Democrats (with a ts).

10 ways American culture and way of life is under assault

By Victor Davis Hanson

We are in the midst of one of the most radical revolutions in American history. It is as far-reaching and dangerous as the turbulent years of the 1850s and 1860s or the 1930s.

Every aspect of American life and culture is under assault, including the very processes by which we govern ourselves, and the manner in which we live.

The Revolution began under the Obama administration that sought to divide Americans into oppressed and oppressors, and then substitute race for class victimization.

It was empowered by the bicoastal wealth accrued from globalization, and honed during the COVID lockdown, quarantine-fed economic downturn, and the George Floyd riots and their aftermath.

The Revolution was boosted by fanatic opposition to the presidency of Donald Trump.

And the result is an America that is unrecognizable from what it was a mere decade ago.

Here are 10 upheavals that the Left has successfully wrought.

( •there are multiple points and examples at EACH one listed)

1. FREE EXPRESSION

2. THE WEAPONIZATION OF JUSTICE
3. THE ATTACK ON THE SUPREME    COURT

4. THE MEDIA DEMOCRATIC FUSION

5. THE DESTRUCTION OF COMMON LAW

 6. THE EROSION OF THE MILITARY
7. SEXES
8. RACE, NOT CLASS

9. DEBT IS A CONSTRUCT

10. UNIVERSITIES

One would wish that some of the people here would actually read all the points that Mr Hanson makes. . . . .

but I know that they won’t.

More and More and More and More.

The entrenched bureaucracy of DC just can't stop intruding on americans lives.

Government & media warn about next threat to school kids: Brown bag lunches

Another school year is about to begin and for now Covid fears have been shelved and the government and media are obviously looking for the next scary thing, and here's where they've landed:

The pivot to "school lunches brought from home" is the next big thing to freak out about:

And the first poster to reply "Well, don't you care about kid's safety?"

Will expose themselves as a buffoon.

The hit pieces coupled with the push to provide free school lunches. at the same time that large third-party companies like Aramark are getting contracts to do all the cafeterias and janitorial in major school districts.

8. RACE, NOT CLASS

This is telling.  So I guess we (the govt) are now advantaging specific races.  And disfavoring certain classes?  As far as the first, white privilege seems less a factor but it's not gone.  Especially in the deep south.  The rich get richer is true and always will be in any political system..  Everywhere.

There's nothing unique about that in America.  These people want a do over.  Aint happening. .. One's skills are highly valued, moderately valued or not valued just like in football.  This is truly the crux of the discontent.

Exactly.  So why is there extreme poverty and crime?    And which groups comprise those involved?  R's fight against programs that specifically target them for aid eg Universal health care, cheaper drugs thru gov't negotiations with big pharma, food stamps, welfare, medicaid, minimum wage.   D's generally do the opposite.  Some believe that it's cheaper to provide basics to the impoverished than to pay for the civil unrest resulting from it.  Probably true especially if it comes out of the pockets of the uber wealthy.

Twilight Of The Democrats

During the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, the Democrats were the party of the future. They were the party of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who were sworn in as presidents at the ages of 46 and 47, respectively.

Today, that seems like a very long time ago.

Consider the new CNN poll. Three-quarters fear Biden’s age could affect his ability to finish another term. Nearly half of registered voters say any Republican presidential nominee would be a better option than Joe Biden in 2024.

If Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee, 47% of voters would vote for him, and 46% would vote for Biden. While this difference is within the margin of error, CNN noted that they did not have a single poll in 2020 that showed Trump leading against Biden.

Democrats were quick to defend Biden’s record. “He’s not getting credit for what I think is a fairly substantial list of achievements,” said David Axelrod, former senior advisor to President Barack Obama.

Yet no matter how much Democrats try to convince the public that “Bidenomics” are working, 58% of Americans still believe that Biden’s policies have worsened economic conditions. Only 30% of Americans say things are going well in the country.

It may be true that, on paper, Biden revived the economy, but the reality most voters experience is different. Prices are up 16.9% since Biden took office, real wages are down 3%, mortgage rates are at their highest in 22 years, and credit card debt has reached a new peak.

It’s likely that the constant flow of money to Ukraine only worsens Americans’ fears that the president is mishandling the economy. With hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars going overseas, 500,000 Russian and Ukrainian troops killed or wounded, and no end in sight, the conflict has become the kind of nightmarish “forever war” that voters once associated with Republicans.

For many years, Democrats insisted that they were the party of diplomatic solutions; today, they are eagerly sending depleted uranium rounds and internationally banned cluster munitions to Ukraine.

Biden’s poor approval ratings are likely also influenced by the brewing scandal around his son. Over half of voters believe that the president’s actions related to the Hunter Biden probe are inappropriate, and 61% say they think the president was involved in his son’s business dealings.

Indeed, there is mounting evidence that Biden’s Department of Justice is criminalizing the political activity of his enemies while shielding his son from real prosecution.

{snip}

The problem for Democrats is that they might have no one who can replace him. Kamala Harris is even less popular than Biden, and San Francisco is Gavin Newsom’s albatross.

This is perhaps what is most damning about the current state of the Democrats: Biden may really be the best they have to offer.

The Frightened Left

Weaponizing impeachment is just one of many precedents that Leftists now would not wish to have applied to themselves

By Victor Davis Hanson

September 11, 2023

An impeachment inquiry looms and the shrieks of outrage are beginning.

The Left is now suddenly voicing warnings that those who recently undermined the system could be targeted by their own legacies.

So, for example, now we read why impeachment is suddenly a dangerous gambit.

True, the Founders did not envision impeaching a first-term president the moment he lost his House majority. Nor did they imagine impeaching a president twice. And they certainly did not anticipate trying an ex-president in the Senate as a private citizen

In modern times, the nation has not rushed to impeach a president without a special counsel investigation to determine whether the chief executive was guilty of “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

But thanks to the Democrats, recent impeachments now have destroyed all those guardrails. After all, Trump was impeached the first time on the fumes of an exhaustive but fruitless 22-month, $40 million special counsel investigation—one designed to find him guilty of Russian “collusion” and thus to be removed from office but found no actionable offenses at all.

Instead, dejected Democrats moved immediately for a second try. In September 2019 a few weeks after Trump had announced his 2020 reelection bid, the Democratic House began to impeach the president on the new grounds that he had talked to the President Zelensky of Ukraine and said he might delay offensive arms shipments—unless the Ukrainians could demonstrate that they had ended corruption and, in particular, were no longer influenced by the Biden family quid pro quo shakedowns.

Trump was proven right: the Biden family is not just corrupt, but, in particular, Joe Biden as head of the family and Vice President had intervened in the internal politics of an aid recipient, by threatening not to delay but rather to cancel outright all U.S. aid to Ukraine—unless it fired Viktor Shokin, a Ukrainian prosecutor.

Shokin was then looking into the misadventures of Biden’s son Hunter, and why the Vice President’s imbecilic son was receiving lucrative compensation on the boards of a Ukrainian energy company Burisma, yet without any demonstrable expertise or education in matters of energy policy.

Since Trump was impeached, we now know that Joe Biden did lie that he had no connection with or even knowledge of his son’s business. And we know that the fired prosecutor believed the Bidens were recipients of bribes. We know that contrary to Biden’s assertions, he was not following State Department policy.

But weaponizing impeachment is just one baleful legacy of the Left. There are plenty more of their own precedents that Leftists now would not wish to have applied to themselves:

GREAT ORATORS OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

To borrow an old recurring leitmotif of James Taranto, when he was writing the Wall Street Journal’s Best of the Web Today:

● “One man with courage makes a majority.” — attributed to Andrew Jackson.

● “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt.

● “The buck stops here.” — Harry S. Truman.

● “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” — John F. Kennedy.

Which brings us to:

WATCH: John Fetterman's Reaction to the Impeachment Inquiry May Just Be the Most Bizarre Take You'll See

The funniest part of the take isn't even Fetterman — although that's truly weird.

The funniest part was the panicked handler desperate to get him away from the reporters, knowing this reaction wasn't going to go over well. The aide has more sense than does Sen. Fetterman.

He grabs him and moves him away from the reporters saying that they had to get back to the office. He knows how bad that looks. Even if you're a Democrat and you want to defend Joe Biden, this just makes him look bizarre.
