The rumor is that Gaine and Bill O’Brien we’re old friends that worked well in Houston. Gaine left a Houston and became Assistant GM with the Bills for 1 season before jumping back to Houston as GM signing a 5 year deal. In just a year and a half, there were enough disputes and disagreements between Gaine and O’Brien that Billy pulled a power play and got Gaine fired. It was pretty crazy to think that he still had 3.5 years on his contract and the he was given less than 2 years at the helm.
