Don't overlook Kris Richard in Dallas.

Jerry has promoted from within for 4 consecutive coaches, and Richard has done a phenomenal job with their defense.

Kris absolutely deserves a solid chance someplace. Maybe working under Jerry would give him a better chance for success. Certainly, he'd have the roster to win now.

Snyder as well as Jerry

Jerry doesn't make nearly as many personnel decisions as he'd like you to believe. Will McClay is the personnel guru behind their talent accumulation

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Chargers move on from Lynn and one or both of Fangio/Arians retires.

Quite surprised the Lions are keeping Matt Patricia.

NBC sports reported that Lynn is safe in LA

While you lament about coaching in Washington and Dallas, let's not forget the other black hole for coaches... NY Giants. Only Tom Coughlin and Bill Parcells had success there  and that likely won't change anytime soon. There's really only one type of coach that can win there. A very head-strong, take-no-prisoners kind of personality. The only guy I can think of today like that is Gregg Williams. They'll probably hire Doug Marrone.

Rivera is better than that.  The Washington job is for someone desperate to be a HC.  I hope Rivera doesn't stoop that low.

Yeah I agree, I don’t want him there either. I’m a huge fan of Rivera, think he is a leader of men and a true Head Coach that has also played and succeeded in the league. I don’t want him in the AFC though because we will have to deal with him. Perfect spot for Rivera would be in Dallas. I really hope that happens.

I'd rather he end up with the Giants.  Jerry Jones likes puppets.  Rivera is too good for that, too.  I totally agree that Rivera is a leader of men and a true HC.  I think his history with Gettleman would serve him (and the Giants) well.

Yeah that would be good for Rivera also in NYG. One thing we know is wherever he goes the fan base should be excited because they are getting a legit HC.

Rivera couldn't pounce on that Skins job fast enough.  He knew it was going to be his only offer--why else would he go there?

The "Riverboat Ron" and Newton combo had 6 of 9 seasons together where they won 7 or fewer games.  Fox did better with Jake Delhomme.

Maybe the most overrated HC ever.

the talent is there.

it’s the coaching decisions that cost that talent
