Brutal analysis.

Brutal.

The 2019 Rams had a better offense than NE's defense. They also had a better defense than NE's offense. But the NFL is a matchup league, so it's probably worth diving JUST a bit deeper than "we're better than you".

Otherwise why even play the game?

I think that the problem for Buffalo is the matchup of WRs vs secondary.

Gilmore will probably draw Smoke and is capable of limiting him significantly. That likely means that Beasley draws a bracket inside and Zay/Foster/Slick draw 1-1s.

If the Bills want to score consistent points against NE, they're going to have to hit big plays to their backs and TEs early and often and force NE to adjust.

Look for lots of TE seam routes.

If the Bills play their best game and the Pats play theirs. Pats win by 10 points

Pats offence is better than Bills defense and Pats defense is better than Bills offense.

The big differece is in game coaching. McDermott is not very good at adjustments.

Maybe, but I just don’t see the Pats being some big scary team anymore. The Pats May beat the Bills on Sunday but the end is near for them. It’s going to happen fast, I think the Bills have a shot to be the team that helps speed up the Process.

The end has been near for the Pats*** for 10 years now.

The problem wasn't his answer. I didn't think he'd answer that question, you didn't think he'd answer that question, and she definitely didn't think he would. I mean seriously watch the interview she basically gives a preamble to the question that screamed "hey I know you're not going to ask this but I've got to do my job." The problem is that after he gets asked that question he decides to act like a petulant child and not an adult who has to deal with things he doesn't like in the work place.

I wonder what he said after the video goes away? My guess is he continued to stare.

I wonder if Kroft is a possibility this week?

Matchup is certainly critical. I am not sure that our defense (or any defense) can take away the strength of the Patriots offense, the quick hitting short passing game.  The Patriots will score over 20 points almost certainly.  It will take a much better game plan than the Bills have had so far to score more than 20 against the Pats defense.

Singletary, Jones, Foster, and the TE need to step up.  No one has threatened them deep.  Imo Foster could be the key.  It's a tough matchup.  Buffalo are live dogs.  Buffalo is by far the best defense NE will face.  McDermott has had good success at slowing down their offense.  Buffalo makes plays on defense and the offense avoids TO it will be a close game.

I will say 4-5 years, But I get your point. Much respect for them and the run.

They have beaten worse teams than Buffalo has this year. More convincing, I’d argue it’s easier for teams to give up against the Pats. Nobody questions a loss to the Patriots.

look, Pats might beat the Bills by 40, seen it enough times. There is going to be a game where we look back and say that was the beginning for the Bills run and the end of the Pats dominance. Why not now?

Oh certainly. Bill’s demeanor is always like that. He knows he doesn’t want to be there, we know he doesn’t want to be there. He doesn’t even try to obligatory fake smile.

That would be nice, but we are getting very good TE play without him. No need to rush him.

Gilmore has been exceptional. I do remember that at least when he was with the Bills, he sometimes struggled with the smaller, slippery WRs and was better against the bigger contested catch types. Not sure if still the case.

No, but I remember a week THREE matchup between the 2-0 Bills and 2-0 Pats*** in Buffalo in 2011 -- the last time the Bills started the season 3-0.

But to your point -- it's true that nobody really expects the Bills win this game or the line wouldn't be where it is.

I was saying to friends yesterday during the 4th quarter that while I was disappointed in Allen's gaffe that let Cinci back in the game, this is exactly the sort of win the team needs heading in to Pats*** week.  Any euphoria about being 3-0 was squashed and they know they have work to do.  It was a very good lesson for a team learning how to win (and how not to lose).

I'm confident they will be very well prepared for the Pats*** on Sunday.  That doesn't guarantee anything other than I don't believe it will be a laugher and they should have an opportunity in the 4th -- if Josh can keep a lid on the turnover can.

I happen to agree with you. it was a gut check win against a team fighting for his last breath.

Bob Papa and Charlie Weiss agree as well.... I was listening them this morning about the game. Both agreed they were worried for the bills coming into the game. both agreed that the bengals are tougher than their record suggests and Weiss said he came away very impressed by allens/teams response to going down in the 4th and thought it was a good ending for them that checked off a box/passed a tough test(paraphrasing obviously).

If the Bills had played remotely well on offense last year they'd have been right in the thick of both games.  I think it's a reasonable statement to say the Bills are demonstrably better on offense to start 2019, and their defense is the same if not better.  Yes, the Pats*** are playing well but this game is not set up to be a laugher.

My point is stop drooling over the Pats. They beat 3 tomato cans. The Bills are the first actual good team they are playing. It's not a gimme for them.

Lol and they annihilated those tomato cans.

I bet you say this each and every year.
