Must have been nice to warm yourself near the furnaces.  Lucky bastard.

Well it wasn’t warmth as much as 1,000 degrees blasting in my face. See my dad worked the mill and didn’t have enough money to afford a shovel for the coal. So he used me.

You can hear?  What's it like, not being deaf from childhood malnutrition?

It’s a saying. I really can’t hear. I’d kill for child malnutrition deafness. I was born without ears. Ok ok I was born with ears!  They sewed them shut to keep me from hearing the constant beating my dad gave my mom with his coal shovel.

I wish I knew someone - anyone - who knew how to sew.

You had a mom and dad? I was a feral child raised by stray cats.

... Still with the "walls are closing in"?

 Might need to update the talking points on that one. We're in phase two now of his presidency: post Mueller. If there are walls closing in they're not closing in on Trump but the ones who committed seditious treason (for a long time).

30%

It's not (really/solely) about immigration. Combating human trafficking has always been at the front of this administration's agendas, and the sacred cow both Right and Left uniparty DCers have been trying to protect.

30%. A billion dollar industry... but nothing to see here.

(those are just the ones crossing at checkpoints)

BREAKING: Lawmakers have reached agreement in principle to approve billions of dollars in aid for regions struck by natural disasters, leaving out border money White House demanded, according to Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.). Shelby made the announcement Thursday afternoon. The package is expected to cost $19.1 billion. Congressional Democrats and Republicans, as well as the White House, have signed off on the deal in principle, Shelby said.

CROSSING THE BORDER

We can turn to to the Daily Mail to learn of the large group of Africans crossing the Rio Grand to enter the United States illegally last week. The AP covered the story without the video supplied by Customs and Border Protection (below), but the bare-bones AP story seems to have escaped daily newspapers across the United States.

The White House has done its part to get the story out. The Daily Mail quotes this White House tweet: “Last night, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 100 illegal aliens from Congo, Angola, and Cameroon near the U.S.–Mexico border.” This proposition has the added advantage of truth: “Our southern border is now a magnet for illegal immigration from all over the world. It’s time for Democrats to help close the loopholes!”

There is a back story here. How did these folks get to Mexico and why didn’t they seek refuge or lawful entry to the United States from there?
