Beane Acknowledges QB "Mistake" by Not Getting Anderson Sooner

On a separate thought, love that fans continually call for "accountability", the guy admits his mistake and it's STILL not enough.  "Why didn't he throw himself into the wood chipper!?!"

He's not supposed to throw himself into the wood chipper, he's supposed to throw Peterman in so we never have to see him QB the Bills again...

no gm is perfect and qb is one of the most mismanaged positions there is.  Look at the packers last year when Rogers went down. How did they not know Hundley was terrible?  So many other examples.  The eagles with Foles are such an anomaly.

Fixed for you.

100% Correct, teams with two starting QB's on the roster are non-existent. A QB injury will ruin an otherwise perfect season.

I will agree that Tebow had a good game vs. Pittsburgh.  But he had absolutely nothing to do with the Broncos being in the playoffs.  Zero.  Tebow and Peterman are neck and neck for the worst ever in the NFL.

Gugny, your takes are usually thought provoking with some meat behind them, but you're just wrong here, sorry. Whether from a win-loss record standpoint or statistically, you cannot say that Tebow is tied neck and neck with NP for worst ever in the NFL.

For just a sample comparison I'm pulling out of my behind between who I've always associated as one of the worst ever, Ryan Leaf, versus Tebow, here's Leaf's lifetime stats:

Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS QBrec Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD TD% Int Int% Lng Y/A AY/A Y/C Y/G Rate Sk Yds NY/A ANY/A Sk% 4QC GWD AV

Now compare to Tebow:

I haven't taken the time to chart others, but I'm reasonably sure there are significantly more names to pull out of that hat, including say, JaMarcus Russell?

Sir you know as well as I do that he could have deflected that *****

lol

They did mess it up...not with the Josh Allen pick just not having another viable guy on the roster.

I certainly PRAY this is correct!

If a person was standing on a pile of ***** and claimed that he was standing on the firm ground he would not only not be taken seriously but would be laughed at. If one can't acknowledge the obvious then that person's credibility would go to shiiit. :)

What other mistake was there?

Believing Picksix is a capable QB. I honestly am starting to think this regime has no clue on how to run an offense in 2018. They believe you can win with field position and by playing conservative offense. Look no further then what the 49ers did last night with a 3rd string QB. Their coach knows how call plays and scheme around below average talent. Not the Bills

So you expect Beane to tell the media that he made a mistake in thinking that Sunday’s starting QB is a capable QB?

Is that your take?

He should have been cut before the season started. Obviously the don't think its a mistake to keep one of the worst QB's in the game on the roster.

Oh you know...the usual.

Basically being the GM of the Buffalo Bills

Basically the GM of DEM BILLS can do no wrong. Can't criticize DEM BILLS, they know why Picksix is still on this team even though he should have been cut at the beginning of the season.

This is both refreshing and encouraging to read.  He could have easily bullshitted or simply stayed silent.  I'm glad to see this.

Honestly, it’s one of the few things lately that made me feel somewhat hopeful.

ive been at odds with some of beanes process. I feel like his timing and sequencing of moves, prioritization etc.... has been suspect. It’s silly but all the way back to firing the full staff and then rehiring a bunch instead of holding on to some....

to see him acknowledge imperfection is a bit heartening that he may be learning.

Im not sure I love that Anderson’s the guy but at least he gets that having access to only one qb that knows the system behind your starter is no good. Basic. But better than not getting it still.
