As in John Butler?

Cue Edith Baines Bunker voice:

Those were the days... you knew who the Bills were then. Every year the wins were more than 10! The offense sure could use a man like Reed or Lofton again!

Didn’t have no botched field goal fakes... the offense always pulled it’s weight. And gee old Thurman ran great... THOSE WERE THE DAYYYS!

Bless you YE OLE.

I'm inclined to agree. If he was disgruntled or something, then so be it. But he's not. He's happy, healthy, and was voted team captain.

If there is substance to the Texans' Watson injury being a punctured lung with Watson likely being held out of this weekend's game that is an emotional lift to the team and if we can be 3-3 this time next week then the morale only rises for the Bills.  Wrong time for sure to tamper with the roster in terms of McCoy.  If we could only convince the Eagles that they have a desperate need for Benjamin..................

We would basically be giving up on the season with this trade. I would do it for McCoy, he is not able to get quality touches in this offense.

If the Bills can get good compensation, it's a win for everyone involved.

what do you consider good compensation?

It's time for you to keep quiet.  Everyone who knows anything about football talks about how well McD has coached given a team with limited talent, and how he has a solid locker room.  But you somehow think you know different based on information you claim is true that you have no way of knowing is valid.  Do you hang out in the locker room?  No.

I see you have me confused with your kids .....MCD caused the limited talent by shipping the playmakers out and their inability to judge talent ( Tolbert, KB, Ducasse, ZAY, and his love for washed up Carolina players. Just because you like to keep your head in the sand that's up to you

By then Philly would have already turned to their Plan B or C

Maybe, but other teams could try to squeeze them until the 30th too

I would say a 3rd and maybe a sweetner like an additional 5th in 2020.  If we could get a second I would be thrilled but It would be hard to believe that we could get that for a 30 year old running back.  If it were anything less than a 3rd, I don't think it would be worth it considering how poor we are on offense.

We may all be thinking the haul is much more than being discussed. Getting a 4 that can condition to a 3 may be the absolute most. Even a 5 to a 4 may be a stretch.

Honestly think a 3rd straight up is a pipe dream.

I can see both sides on this one.

From purely a business plan perspective, it makes sense to trade him since we're really building for 2 years from now, when McCoy likely won't be here or be at his best anymore anyway.

However...we're so strapped on weapons that it could make QB1's development even tougher. If the plan is to keep playing him the rest of this season and the return is going to be a 3rd round pick or lower, it might make sense to keep him .

Gave up on the season after that Bengals preseason game.

Unless they blow the doors off on this deal with a few picks over the next 2 years I would say no.

But then again Shady has been a good soldier so they should give him a chance to go out on a high note if that's what he wants.

I don’t think it’s worth it to the Bills either. They don’t need the pick or the cap space and McCoy is valuable to developing Allen which is a priority

Whats a 3rd round pick increasing your contender chances? They are already good enough to win a title. Adding Shady could make it worth it.

Lets see.

It depends on what you mean by that. We're not going to win anything this season, we already know that. It's a development year. I think it all depends on how much they view McCoy as being a contributor to that development.

If Beane got a 3rd for Tyrod, we should expect a 2nd for Lesean, in my opinion.

I say only trade Mccoy for a 1st. He's way to valuable to this offense right now

Not to mention the optics that would bring with it when they are ready to spend on free agents in the offseason. Agent: "Bills want to sign you." Player: "So I'll get paid, but they may just trade me in a year or two and I'll have to move my family again? Pass."
