Dude, have you actually watched Mahomes play????   I was very skeptical of him last season and early this season, but that kid is special.  He'd be a star on just about any team he played on with the possible except of McDermott's Bills.  Andy Reid's offensive savvy simply enhances his natural talents but then he did that with most of his previous QBs as well ... Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, Alex Smith, too.

I think that Andy Reid is a major factor in why Mahomes is succeeding.  We don't have Andy Reid here.  A real world short term solution for Buffalo would be to hire the recently fired McCoy to come in to oversee the QB's.  If Kim Pegula reads this board then maybe she can drop a subtle hint to Beane that will appear to the public that Beane came to this conclusion on his own.  Kim : "There is money in our budget to bring McCoy in to oversee our QB's."  Hint, hint.

I ask this respectfully. Where were you when the constant Vitriol was directed at me and jeffsmagic and others on why Mahomes should have been drafted by the Bills. It got so bad Jeffsmagic quit the stadium wall. I never saw any warnings from you about that. It was ok for us to get verbally abused on this forum and people cheered it on. I’m a big boy I can take it. Now the shoe is on the other foot and we see Mahomes is the next farve. So now that this is happening some of us are calling the Bills out for it. I want to hear from you on this subject and did you agree with the Bills trading with the chiefs. I guess what I’m saying is, why was it ok 18 months ago to give Mahomes lovers Vitriol

in these forums and nothing was done about it. Now we stand up for Mahomes and call the Bills out and the people who gave us Vitriol and now we’re the bad guys. How about be fair about this. I agree we need to keep it civil and respectful. But some of us are not happy with the way were were treated. This post is respectfully submitted.

I'll explain it again:

You didn't get mocked for liking Mahomes; half the board loved Mahomes. You got mocked for incessantly professing love for him nonstop in many threads day in and day out, and taking on a phony me-against-the-world diatribe that nobody could talk you down from.

The Bills in my opinion would be 4-2 in Mahomes was their QB this year.

Doubt it.  We would be torched by opposing offenses since we would lack a shutdown corner such as what we have in White.  I know fans are tired but we can't keep turning over staff every couple of years.  Top level coaching talent such as Cowher was already was avoiding us and will just get worse as time goes forward.  The Bengals found this out and is one reason they are giving Marv Lewis every chance.

Vitriol no matter how many excuses you make is still vitriol. You just proved my point. So you admit to mocking. So that’s Vitriol why was there no warning then.

It's not just Mahomes.

KC is 7-0 on Coin Flips this season.

Whoever hired our coin flip caller instead of KCs should also be fired.

Williams called heads at the two games (Minny and GB) I went to this year. We aren't winning coin tosses because we keep calling heads!! Tails never fails, duh!!

Time will tell all and we both agree there.

Mahomes as young as he is is already better than Alex Smith. Give him a couple more years and you will see him in Super Bowls. He's already playing like a top 3 QB in the AFC. Where does that leave him once Brady and Ben retires in the next couple years?

Good luck for your game tape to play out. KC is a DC coordinator nightmare right now with their weapons.

Well it’s pretty cool you know the future, any chance you can dm me the winning lotto numbers?

Not even half a season and you got the guy in Super Bowls filling Brady’s shoes?

This sounds really similar to Watson last year, RGIII a few years back..

I hope you don’t think I’m saying the guy is trash, he’s not. He is obviously talented.

But he hasn’t accomplished nothing in my eyes yet. As I said earlier I’d like to see a game or two without Hill and Kelce and see how many interceptions he throws, if he can still run a high octane offense, if it’s as easy to scramble around when defenses can actually play one on one coverage.

Thats my point behind the whole thing.

All anyone has seen so far is their offense running at 100%

No real adversity.

No real scheme changes or gameplans since everyone is healthy.

Nobody makes it through a season with a fully healthy offense. Then maybe I’ll jump on the bandwagon and be willing to give him elite status.

I thought that McDermott ran the 2017 draft because he won the power struggle over the Bills draft board.  IIRC, the story was that Whaley wanted Watson.  That would seem to make sense since he was officially fired the day after the draft, but that was when all the Bills cheerleaders were hyping the great Tre White pick and Mahomes was just this KC QB who was "nothing special".  Now that Mahomes seems to be "the real deal" and isn't a flash in the pan, the narrative is changing to lay the blame for passing on Mahomes -- and Watson -- on Whaley, but of course, McDermott still gets credit for the FA signing of Poyer and Hyde.   ?

And the white pick is still great

I have watched some of his games.

I disagree he’d be a star on most other teams. He forces throws like crazy when the pressure is on. Some of his biggest plays are wide open receivers and the easiest reads ever.

Hes not trash I do think he’ll be a good quarterback. Just not enough time played to give him any kind of elite status

I think that Mahomes would have been successful where ever he was if he had any kind of decent coaching and a decent supporting cast.  He's a special talent.

You are absolutely right that Allen needs a real QB coach, not a WR coach in need of a new gig so make him the Bills QB coach.   I've been on record -- and have taken lots of heat for it -- in saying that the Bills are setting up Allen for failure because they have failed to give Allen any kind of support:  not a first rate QB coach, not good receivers, not a solid offensive line.  IMO, he's the little kid that the Bills have thrown in the deep end of the pool to sink or swim as best he can ... and he'll also make a convenient scapegoat to take pressure off the Bills CS and FO for their failure to build a competitive team.  If you think I'm kidding, consider all the posters who are "okay" with the crappy team the Bills have fielded in 2018 "as long as Allen is learning the ropes".

As Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold have shown, a team doesn't have to be totally inept on offense just because they have a rookie QB as their starter.

And he’s doing it again.    If he toned it down about 65% it might be quality content.

I have now read it all a hof qb favre that was a dominant qb for decades is equal to a 2nd year player 8 games into his career under a 100% talent filled offense. Yikes.

That's even worse, because you're not even acting like a 20 year old.

Bandit has contributed more to this board in one weight-lifting post than 99% of the posters here.

My understanding (and take this however you like) is that Whaley ran that draft.

FWIW, Leroi was adamant that that was the case as well.

Your post about Whaley making the trade was something I don't recall hearing before now. The information I recall centered around McD deciding to kick the can down the road and thought he could save Tyrod....

Edit:

I found it:

""A year ago, the Buffalo Bills were linked to Mitch Trubisky, partially by me. (It was) confirmed many times throughout the process... Doug Whaley (was) their GM at the time in Buffalo. I was told him and part of the front office really liked Trubisky. I think that's well-founded. They were higher on Trubisky than we were, but Trubisky looks pretty good. I think it was a good decision to be aggressive towards him. I know people close to Trubisky who said that, 'Yeah, he believed he was likely going to be a Buffalo Bill of all the teams out there.' You know a lot of teams liked Trubisky, obviously the Bears did too, but he thought himself that the Bills might be his most likely destination."

"But when Sean McDermott got there, (he) really won over a lot of that front office, a lot of that ownership group and they believed in McDermott. And McDermott believed in Tyrod Taylor and he said, 'Hey, let's kick the can on drafting a quarterback right now.' They didn't move up for Trubisky. They moved back and the Chiefs go up and get Pat Mahomes and they took Tre'Davious White, which they're definitely happy with, but they passed on basically two quarterback opportunities they had and that's not counting Deshaun Watson either...""

Eventually, those with poor social skills eventually find their way elsewhere. Nobody chases anyone way for posting quality opinions. However, people do get cranky when posters are obnoxious asshats.

Pro tip: There is NOTHING you can write in our community, either in 4/17 or in 10/18 that changes ANYTHING with the Buffalo Bills. Not a thing. The trade still occurs. KC still gets Mahomes, the Bills get Allen. Nothing changes. Whatever crusade you are on has no purpose. It literally ends in the abyss. You could convince 100% of the people here to agree with 100% of your opinions and nothing changes. So stop acting like it matters. It doesn't.

Fans come here as an extension of their entertainment experience with the Bills. If you decide to detract from that, if you decide to make this a worse place to visit because you want to re-litigate the 2017 draft, then this community isn't for you. We are here to enjoy each others company. Figure out how to be enjoyable to be around.

Bravo.  I want to see the people who whine 24/7 about Mahomes to produce the time machine that will secure a different outcome.  I would imagine quite a few people on message boards have pretty stinky lives but their "therapy" should be found elsewhere.  Their "contributions" produce nothing in the way of a positive outcome.

Im not going to take the bait. I am smarter then that. I’m just calling it like I see it Mahomes is on pace to break the single season TD record. Enjoy the rest of your day fellow Bills fans.

Your 7 previous warnings suggest otherwise. Use this last chance wisely.
