Take it up with McBeane. After the bozo FOs we've had the past few decades these guys get the benefit of the doubt with me.

That's not what McBeane is gonna do though, it's what some fools here THINK they will or should do. They are fans, that read somenonsense about how to develop QB's and post some kind of plan that they think the team should follow. Each QB is different. This isn't JP Lossman, it's a guy with amazing talent, that is getting good quickly, and a 2nd year guy who (for some reason) some fans have projected their dreams onto (but he is actually just in the way at this point).

At worst, Peterman might start a couple games, but I think he will struggle and it will be obvious that it's time for Allen.

He will be our starter, before the last game players didnt talk this much about him or maybe weren't allowed.  Now you have so many players praising him. Its obvious they want him to start, you don't need to praise a guy like this unless you trust and want him playing with you.

BuhBuhBuh bbb...but wait! What about that great advantage that Peterman developed by throwing 5 interceptions in a half?

How is Allen going to make any kind of career without that kind of advantage?

I'm really hoping Allen throws 7 interceptions in his first half, then we'll know he's on his way, and can say "this guy is ready!"

I don't think you start Peterman with the intention of just a few games. If they think Allen is that close, he is close enough.

I have liked Petermans work in preseason. I have also thought that Josh Allen has given reasons to be looked at more seriously right now as a starter. I'm glad our draft pick is earning his stripes and seems to be learning quickly.

Thanks for the update.

I didn't say it would be their intent, I'm saying Peterman would **** the bed so bad, they wouldn't have much of a choice.

But they are (hopefully) smart enough to just start Allen.

Why not? It’s done all the time, and just last season.  Do you think anybody really thought Tom Savage gave the Texans a better chance to win than Watson?

There would be benefits for Allen to sit and watch for a few meaningful games.

His footwork is more advanced than I expected

So is his pocket presence.

its almost as if he really is that one guy that just got that far without legit coaching and now that he has it is soaking it up like a sponge

Touche fellow poster. I guess that would depend on Peterman. If we are winning games I don't think you make the switch.

Wait, are you really saying that O’Brien did the right thing by starting Savage over Watson to start the season????  All that did was put the team in a hole and gift the Browns a higher draft pick.

I don’t know.  I wasn’t at the Texans training camp nor did I watch their preseason games.  I’m just saying O’Brien may have decided to give Watson a few games to watch.  Savage’s poor play may have made Watson the starter quicker or it was close to the plan.  Only those involved know.

John Fox in Chicago did the same thing last year, playing the abysmal Mike Glennon over Trubisky for the first 4 or 5 games.  It was an absurd decision, did nothing but delay Trubisky’s development, and Fox is now unemployed.

If the O-line sucks that bad, it's time to make a trade, and bring in a better player or two. Peterman isn't going to fair any better (he blows).

The offensive identity is different with Allen, and they need to gear it to Allen NOW, not working on plays that suit Peterman's game.

It's so comical how many Peterman bashers there still are. You guys all do realize Nate will be our backup for the next 10 years. Get over it.
