Why is it that everyone who identifies themselves as "Independents" around here spout liberal talking points like there's no tomorrow?

Through the years all my cats have been quick to jump into boxes and think they are invisible to everyone.

I’m an Indy because I favor policies that help the people not corporate profits.

Independents, self-called, make me laugh just like when I read about a new and refreshing approach to staging Hamlet.

dont spend a penny or minute on either of them....

What makes me laugh is people who don’t vote & conservatives who for decades championed neoliberal free trade deals & the elimination of federal debt who now are going in the totally opposite direction.

I’ll let our courts try them. Although we’ve suspended habeas corpus & could theoretically send these terrorists to Club Gitmo where they can undergo ‘enhanced interrogation’.

Except it's not illegal to be a Nazi.

If it were, you wouldn't need Antifa, would you?

That's not the definition of "independent."

It's the definition of "socialist."

Independents can’t favor policies like expanding Social Security, Medicare? Mmmm Kay. The Overton Window skews far right on this forum. Lots of key demographics covered here; white, late 50s & older & conservative. This board needs Indy’s like me to bring the conversation back to the center.

They can.  And when they do, they're socialists.

And even if not...hell, you're referring to antifa as "we," and antifa has been a communist organization since inception.

That makes you not an independent, but a socialist.  Own it.

And I also recommend reading Richard Evans, and learning how close to National Socialist you are.

Never been embedded with Antifa but have sympathy to any organization whose sole mission is to oppose hatred like the white nationalists of the U.S. espouse.

I suggest you read Mein Kampf to better understand the role of capitalism’s merger with fascism. I suspect you are well versed in the adage “accuse the other side that of which you are guilty of.”

He has, you azz... in the native German. And he’s probably translated it into thirteen different languages including a Jew Bee dance script.

SMH...this guy who forgets about the white nationalists last summer in Charlottesville chanting “Jews will not replace us.” The same group who killed a peaceful protestor. So far thats alt-right 1, Antifascists 0 in the body count.

Uh, you forgot to list all the cops that were killed by racist blacks and innocent citizens that were killed by Illegal Trespassers.

Kind of like... Trump said after Charlottesville “there’s fine people on both sides.”

Did you know that there were people there that were merely protesting the removal/destruction of statues? What side do you think they got lumped in with? Were they not "fine people"? You "progressives" always either lie or stretch the truth to attempt to make a point. That's all you have in your arsenal.

How about the persons who uttered these - racist?

“The training of these poor creatures to turn themselves into fighting machines is simply barbaric, barbaric, barbaric! Barbaric! Let that word resound from hill to hill, and from mountain to mountain, from valley to valley, across this broad land, barbaric, barbaric. May God help, those poor souls, who'd be so cruel. Barbaric! Hear me! Barbaric!”

“I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”

During the two decades he served in the U.S. Senate he would use the phrase "n***er bill." He also reportedly defended appointing Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court––the court's first black justice in U.S. history––by stating, "Son, when I appoint a n***er to the court, I want everyone to know he's a n***er."
