We're assuming that both would act like rational people, when in reality they've proven themselves to be idiots. bottom line: Unless they can find the perpetrator, and link him directly to McCoy, there is not going to be enough evidence to do anything. Everyone I’ve spoken to, and any article/post comment thread I read about this is of the majority belief - “She’s Lying”.
