Well, hold on here — why should a gun get locked up on a first offense? First time DUI offenders get leniency, and we don't take their cars away. And I've not met a gun that did anything bad on its own. You really make the point yourself: people do things. Bad people do bad things. The tools they use are not at fault. I think you see that from what you posted, but yet you still end up blaming the weapon used. The easy joke is about a 'tool' being used.
