Rep. Schiff wanted the probe to remain open ended.  Couldn't have seen THAT coming. <_<

Who is still listening to Schiff?

He's confirmed that there is no evidence of Trump or his campaign colluding with Russia to sway the election through that statement.  If there was so much evidence as he has previously stated, then he would have stated that the majority party is shutting down the investigation and ignoring the evidence.  Instead he only speaks about the unanswered and the unexplored.  What a !@#$ing hack he is.

He was with the russians befors Trump, then he was against them. After finding out there was no collusion, I think he's confused on what side he should be on. That's such a strain on his feeble little mind.

So Putin murders people in the UK and you think he is too nice of a guy to interfere in our elections?

Has Trump criticized Putin's murderous actions or is he still sticking too, "Hey, we do bad things too"

What an a-hole Trump is

A top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee distanced himself Tuesday from one of the panel's most explosive findings in its Russia investigation — that the FBI, CIA and NSA overplayed their hand when they declared Russia preferred a Donald Trump victory in the 2016 election.

Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina said that the evidence gathered by the committee clearly showed Russia's disdain for Trump's rival, Hillary Clinton, and was "motivated in whole or in part by a desire to harm her candidacy or undermine her Presidency had she prevailed."

Golden shower? Trump dossier authors doubt their most explosive allegation
by Byron York

Original Article

The most explosive allegations of the Trump-Russia affair are in the Trump dossier. And the most explosive allegation in the Trump dossier is the tale of Donald Trump, in a Moscow hotel room in 2013, allegedly watching as prostitutes performed a "golden showers" routine on a bed once occupied by former President Barack Obama as hidden cameras rolled.

But now there is new reporting to suggest the dossier's creators had serious doubts about the veracity of the "golden showers" story from the very beginning. Despite those doubts, dossier author Christopher Steele included the "golden showers" account in his collection of anti-Trump intelligence, and the dubious charges set off a series of events that changed the course of the Trump-Russia investigation.

Even amid the various allegations of Trump-Russia connections, it was the "golden showers" episode that most excited those involved in the Clinton campaign-funded effort to find Russian dirt on Trump. It was the story that most excited those in the Obama administration who learned about it. (According to a new book, former national security adviser Susan Rice urged Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to "tell Obama about the 'golden showers' allegation.") At the same time, it deeply disturbed Trump. And, of course, it excited the ranks of Trump resisters on Twitter and elsewhere who long for video evidence; just look up #peepeetape.

{snip}

Now, a new book, Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, by reporters Michael Isikoff and David Corn — both of whom were personally briefed by Steele as part of the Fusion GPS effort to publicize the dossier's allegations before the election — casts serious doubt on the truthfulness of the "golden showers" story.

Let's recap the damning evidence a year plus out:

* CLAIM: Trump won't sanction Russia  ---  REALITY: doubly false now, today's new sanctions plus the targeted ones in December hit Putin hard.

* CLAIM: Tillerson was picked because he's a Putin stooge ---  REALITY: he bucked against tearing up the Iran Deal and negotiating with KJU (which helps Putin), so he was fired.

* CLAIM: Trump's foreign policy will help Russia --- REALITY: Actively seeking peace with DPRK, actively seeking to rip up the Iran deal, decimated Putin forces in Syria.

* CLAIM: Piss tape is real and provides blackmail material --- REALITY: remains unverified, Steele doubts it happened, and Trump sanctioned the Oligarch allegedly in possession of the tapes in December and it never leaked. Why? It never existed.

* CLAIM: Trump isn't doing anything to protect future elections from cyber attacks --- REALITY: https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/dod/cybercom/2018/02/28/cyber-command-granted-new-and-expanded-authorities/

Here's an honest question for those honest folks who have bought into this narrative since the beginning (K-9, 26, Logic, Bob et al)... literally all the talking points have been debunked, disproven, or shown to be inflated noise rather than there being actual fire beneath all the smoke. One committee already declared no-collusion. Mueller's year long probe has not indicted anyone for collusion (or anyone on team Trump for Russian connections during the campaign). When we get to the end of this (which I'm not saying we have reached yet) and there remains no proof of collusion and the reality of world events makes it clear the US is not carrying Putin's water - in fact they're being harder on Putin's ambitions for empire than the previous two POTUSes - will you continue to believe the same sources and news outlets who you've been following and believing for over a year now?

Or will you hold them accountable?

Yes, finally after having been pushed and pulled into doing so and only after Putin murdered another person

* CLAIM: Tillerson was picked because he's a Putin stooge ---  REALITY: he bucked against tearing up the Iran Deal and negotiating with KJU (which helps Putin), so he was fired.

Sure, after literally gutting the state department, something Putin surely would approve of *  and of blowing off our commitment to human rights around the globe

* CLAIM: Trump's foreign policy will help Russia --- REALITY: Actively seeking peace with DPRK, actively seeking to rip up the Iran deal, decimated Putin forces in Syria.

Right, Russian forces approached American forces and good for Trump not telling them to let Russians kill them. Not sure what the other things have to do with Putin

* CLAIM: Piss tape is real and provides blackmail material --- REALITY: remains unverified, Steele doubts it happened, and Trump sanctioned the Oligarch allegedly in possession of the tapes in December and it never leaked. Why? It never existed.

Sorry, this in no way means Trump can't be blackmailed. He still hasn't criticized Putin, even though he criticizes everyone else

* CLAIM: Trump isn't doing anything to protect future elections from cyber attacks --- REALITY: https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/dod/cybercom/2018/02/28/cyber-command-granted-new-and-expanded-authorities/

The Marines? Seriously?

You mean after he literally wanted to gather up every single voter registartion information bit and do who knows what with it.

None of this exonerates Trump

About 10 hours to go for him to sack McCabe. I don't think he's going to do it. He's a softie and the DOJ bowels are grumbling.

I think Sessions is gone if he doesn't fire McCabe OR doesn't appoint a second Special Counsel.

Speaking of... this was an interesting interview last night with Grassley and Graham:

There are a couple things that jumped out at me, but the biggest came from Grassley near the end. Baier asked the senators about the chances of getting a second special counsel appointed. Grassley's answer jumped out:

"I'm gonna use as much leverage as I can, and I think I have a lot, to get the job done."

DYXs18_VoAASjpF.jpg

....

That's perhaps the most badass example of an understatement as I've ever heard...

It's an understatement because we KNOW Grassley has loads of leverage at this point even without the additional ammunition of the forthcoming IG report. But the mention of leverage spurred a thought about McCabe's visit to the DOJ:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/fbi-official-andrew-mccabe-asks-justice-department-not-to-fire-him/2018/03/15/f3f220c0-2871-11e8-b79d-f3d931db7f68_story.html?utm_term=.abb29d789979

Was McCabe really there to ask the DOJ not to fire him? Or was leverage being deployed by Sessions?

Without that pension it's going to be tough for McCabe to cover the legal fees which are coming whether or not he's fired. Perhaps Sessions wanted to remind Andy face-to-face just how expensive and painful the next several months are going to be for him, and how he can reduce some of that by cooperating more fully with what's to come...

... Just thinking out loud It's speculation - and we'll find out soon one way or the other. Either way though it's largely irrelevant. The evidence is overwhelming with or without McCabe's cooperation.

Today is going to be really interesting.
