so Eli and Kaepernick aren't playing but Geno Smith and Blake Bortles are? No wonder the NFL's in trouble

And Blaine Gabbert...

That's the single best use of twitter in history and alone absolves Marshawn of any and all wrongdoing for all time.

Mike Schopp says Eli is being benched because of his skin color as he is the whitest QB in the League.

My only guess is the Giants want to see if Geno Smith looks different than he did with the Jets but no way they are passing up on a guy like Rosen or Darnold in the draft.

Just like we tried to see if tt was different this year.

according to Spotrac Eli's cap hit is ~$13 mil in 2018 and 2019 has an out clause.

that is certainly affordable...i'd be up to trade Tyrod in for Eli as the place holder vet for next couple years.

question is... what will NYG ask in trade for him? would they release him?

I would not give up more than a 2nd for Eli personally

and playing Geno first over Davis Webb is a dumb move. Davis Webb was my favorite qb prospect the year he was drafted.. I think he has solid potential.. way more than Geno

I was a Webb fan too. He looked like a guy with legit pro potential while at Cal.

Call me crazy, but how is this not a good decision? What is the controversy? The 2-9 Giants, unlike the Bills, are completely out of it and in prime position to get a franchise qb in what I think is a great qb draft. Rallying around the flag late in the season with Eli and ending up 5-11 / 6-10 would be very bad for them. At this point, bottom out and put yourself in a position to trade up from the 2/3 slot to wherever it is you want to be (assuming you want to move up). That's how they got Eli in the first place, after all.

Probably not the place for this, but I think Sam Darnold is the most talented thrower in this draft and will become elite as he matures. He has it all, and I think people should look beyond the rough edges.
