A good board member has at least three of these qualities:

  • Insightful
  • Open-minded
  • Respectful
  • Reasonably articulate
  • A sense of humor

Well as long as I don't have to be open-minded and respectful I'm not going to be. Woohoo!

Canadian.

Beer yes, poster no.

  • Spelling - if you cannot spell the name player you are calling an idiot, who is the idiot?
  • Understand exaggeration is a tool of the unarmed in debates. If you are 200% sure of something you are not sure at all.
  • Not repeat the same drizzle in multiple threads. We heard it already and are waiting for the T-Shirt.
  • Make it easy to read. Paragraphs, spacing, punctuation, etc. This is not twits on tweeter.
  • Understand the difference between an opinion and a fact.
  • Not post Peter Pan links

- Know what you are talking about (at least to some degree)

- Support your argument with facts and numbers

- Avoid hyperbole it discredits your position

- Be respectful

- Don't use hindsight to formulate opinions. What happened before is irrelevant. What happens next is what matters

- Have some original ideas that are thought provoking

- Have an identity, something that you are an "expert" in. Some of the best posters have an area where they specialize (Dibs with the cap for example)
