Depends on the system. And you cant count Aaron Williams at all, he needs to retire. That said, have we drafted yet? Seems every GM agrees this is the deepest DB draft possibly ever. I'll take slightly reduced safety play for a full season of play. JMO Aaron Williams played 10 games out of a possible 32 the last two years. Let's see what happens on the football field. I will say this, Aaron Williams will probably retire because of his injuries and if he doesn't he is one hit away from good bye NFL. You would rather take a chance on him staying and getting injured again or retiring instead of getting a quality safety now while you have a chance. The money we are saving on these guys will help us in other areas. We simply couldn't afford Gilmore and his shaky inconsistencies. He didn't play like he wanted to be here. How could you shell out big dollars for his up and down performance last season? I'm sure he will be an annual pro bowl player with the Pats but he didn't show us that type of play last year. I'm not saying we will be better but I honestly would take Hyde over Williams knowing what may happen with Williams. Lets hope Seymour gets better under our new coaching staff and we probably will draft another DB. And that happens when his eyes went into the backfield. It happened at FSU and it jas happened here and been talked about by out own coaches. But again guess we all just make **** up and really dont know anything about football Help get them yet another ring so i am sure they are ok with that 4M they gave Hogan again...NOT the question! Our secondary was a complete mess without him last year, even though he missed most of the previous season as well. Too much risk. We're better today, imo, than we were for most of last year. Really early, but we need to find talent that will be with the team for an extended period of time and represent an upgrade over the talent being replaced. He will struggle in zone concepts because he gets lost when eyes go in backfield. So your anecdotal amateur opinion is of more value than this guy who makes a living out of it? Plenty of things to be critical of, I don't need to pretend I was watching Darby's eyes at FSU while he was in zone coverage. Clearly MAJ was paying close attention to Darby, because he was so highly touted and all and he observed every single football player he has ever watched in college football. Of course it is weaker. There is no debate. The Bills lost their #1 Corner. You can say that the Patriots overpaid but you can't dispute that the Bills just lost the hardest piece to find in a secondary. #1 Corners don't fall from the sky. Williams was never going to play again and Gilmore was not worth 14 million a year. Hyde was listed by ESPN as one of the best signings of the day. Neither will replace Gilmore. They will almost certainly pick DBs at the draft as well. What matters is how they come together as a unit to execute the new scheme. Because they were **** at the old scheme. I'll go with their perspective over anyone's on this board. we will miss Gilmore. This is such a lazy mindset.
