Bills Expected To Select QB in First 2 Rounds says Rival GM

This draft offers very little in the way of true blue chip NFL caliber QBs. Rather than waste a 1st or 2nd round pick on a wing and a prayer, DW and SM need to find a way to swing a deal for Jimmy G. He is the next franchise QB in waiting and doesnt come with all the baggage. Give up 1st two rounds ++ and cut ties with TT. Use the extra cap space to go get Alshon J and give the fans something to get excited about.

Are you serious? Two 1st rounds for Jimmy G? Nahhh your trolling rite? Gotta be trolling. If the Bills go QB 1st ill be cool with Trubisky or Watson, no way in hell do I want Jeanene in Buffalo.

Bills wish they could afford Jefferey. Hope we pick up a solid vet WR in FA and a new and more durable Sammy Watkins in the draft.

Emojis and red hats are the kiss of death.

:lol::lol:

The $$$ emoji scared him off. "Forget that he lead his team on a clutch comeback when the lights were the brightest lets just talk about his twitter cuz hes a thug."

Swap Gilmore's money for alshon jeffrey and keeping woods, restructure TT, draft best safety available in 1st (hooker pls) Mahomes qb in 2nd, another Cb and best kicker avail in 4th. Somewhere in the late rounds please find a freaking punt/kick return specialist.

Thats a good draft. Mahomes will need a year or two to be ready.

I would be all for this plan but it looks like TT is gone. He wont restructure. Hes gonna chase that NFL starved for QBs money in FA. Still hope we can snag Hooker at 10 if Bisky and Watson are gone or not worth it.

We have the best KR/PR that we have had in 3-4 years in WR Tate, he made a bunch of plays last season.

"Matt Miller added the rival GM's quote in his report. The GM believes Doug Whaley will target Clemson QB Deshaun Watson.

"They'll draft one in the first two rounds," said the anonymous GM, "and if I had to pick it'd be [Deshaun] Watson based on what [Doug Whaley] likes and how he thinks."

Watson is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks selected in the 2017 NFL draft. Many draft analysts believe Watson will be a first round pick so if he's the quarterback that Whaley covets, Buffalo would likely have to use the tenth overall pick in the draft on the QB."

I don't believe that for a minute, He drafted ej and Cardale who are nothing like Watson.

Although I would rather keep TT, if he is released, I would roll the dice with Watson if he's there at 10. I'm a sucker for athletic QB that can do things with their feet as well as their arms.

My gut feeling is, he will be over-drafted by another equally desperate team before the Bills have the opportunity to be desperate at 10..

Kelly please

be just like Whaley to get all antsy and "reach " trade up for Watson

Yep, if he does he needs to be fired immediately. I don't have much faith in him now this would end what little I have.

I don't mean to pick on you, but the coded language with black QBs (ie "athletic") is incredibly tiring. We get it, people want a 6'5" white QB with a laser rocket arm and a 4.7 GPA who won 4 championships in a "professional" scheme in college. Watson has a tendency to get lazy on his footwork and make some unadvised throws, but everyone around him raves about his intangibles, he can make plays with his legs, but there's a huge difference between how he plays the game and how Vince Young or Michael Vick played it in college. Watson has come up huge against the best defenses he could see at the college level (Alabama twice and OSU), outside of some of his sloppiness, there's plenty of reason to like him as a prospect.

That sloppiness will be magnified in the NFL where the windows are smaller, the coverage tighter and the pressure higher. He just is not accurate, a fact covered up in part by the luxury of having some of the best WR's in college football and a roster far and away more talented than 90% of their opponents. Making plays with their feet is something NFL QB's do once or twice a game. Making plays with deadly accurate passes is what they do, what they have to do, the rest of the time. If I had a choice between Brady's arm and Tyrod's feet, I'll take the arm every day and all day.

You're gonna see the ascension of the Carolina quarterback," the scout told MMQB. "He's the guy, a Top 2 or 3 pick. He's the guy. ... A lot of teams like him up there."

Two of the draft's other top quarterbacks -- Clemson's Deshaun Watson and Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer -- are more of the developmental variety, per an AFC college scouting director quoted in the report. The scouting director said Watson is a year away from being able to run an NFL offense, while Kizer is more of a two-year project.

"I'll be shocked if Trubisky's not the first one off the board (among quarterbacks)," an AFC executive said.

Getting Romo is a waste of time and energy in my book. Get McCown for the experience and let him fight it out with Cardale and a rookie, hopefully either Mahomes or Watson. I'm a huge Mahomes fan but the more I watch Watson the more he grows on me. Watson reminds me of J. Kelly in the way that he performs better when the pressure is on (for the most part).

If we could land WR Williams at #10 and then trade back up and land Mahomes or Watson it would be an awesome draft and get a lot of fans pumped up again. I don't mention Mitch T since I expect him to go in the first 3 picks of the draft.

Let's Go Buffalo!!!!!

i always toss boulders of salt on my fake off-season outrage. It makes a volcano with the right amount of distilled white vinegar and baking soda.

You should take that fake off-season outrage to Benihana's and amaze the dinner guests.

Often very junior personnel people, quite aside from the need to put out fake news that teams have.

My guess in this case is it's the Browns trying to build up Trubisky. In reality, he is the least ready of the QB prospects in terms of experience (that is a big factor) and they'd probably like it if somebody traded up with them to grab him while they acquired another pick and still be in position to take one of the QBs they knocked.

Find a QB in college like that these days.

Kizer and Trubisky are both far better at being pocket passers than Watson. Pure pocket passers may be few and far between in college these days, but I think you want to look for a guy who shows he can demonstrate those traits. Sam Darnold will be in next years as well. College teams are moving to spread offenses in big numbers, but they don't all run them. I'd prefer a QB who wasn't essentially the point guard distributing the ball to receivers who were mismatches for every defense they played. That's the story of Watson imo. Tajh Boyd looked pretty great at times in that Clemson offense as well. He was in a similar situation having guys like Watkins and Hopkins to throw to. Watson just has become a hotter pro prospect because he won a title. Plenty of scouting reports we're calling him a mid round prospect or second and third round before Clemson won it all. The NFL is a QB hungry league and QB values have been being inflating insanely. This happens every year around draft time. Now I can only hope Whaley doesn't go crazy trying to pick up Watson.

It's not just the $ emoji that scares me off. It's his play on the field that I don't think will translate to the NFL combined with the tweet. The tweet in and of itself isn't a big deal, but combined with my lack of confidence in Watson it sealed the deal for me. This is not a guy I want. The QB is the face of your franchise. I want my QB to demonstrate maturity, and a desire to succeed above all else. I have to question both of these things when a guy is tweeting about money before even being drafted. He hasn't done a thing to earn his NFL money yet. He should be focused on winning a Super Bowl, and then he can brag about the cash that he actually EARNED. NCAA championships mean nothing as to how the QB will perform in the pros. So, yes I don't care that he won the title this year.

If they let Taylor go , draft a QB , plus bring in Landry Jones or Hoyer ?

Not a bad idea.

Hope we can grab Trubisky or Watson witout losing an arm and a leg for them. Or if we pick them up I still want an elite S and WR in rounds 2 and 3

Its not about the chip but HOW he won the chip that tells a lot about the player.

Its about how he exhibited leadership on the field in the face of some adversity and the "clutch" factor of preforming when it counted the most and the lights were the brightest.

To me that is more important than a stupid tweet, you should be pushing why you dont believe in him as a passer at the NFL level cuz the social media stab is weak.

There are flaws to his game, that should get more attention than any stupid social media post.

Trubisky wont be there by the time we pick at 10.
