Lynne may return as oc in buffalo under McDermott

Recommended Posts

i know one thing - I wouldn't want to lose him.

I'd think with the performance of our running game he'd be up there.

He was pretty good in his first year in Chi.

In the second year he was beset by injuries if I recall correctly (both Marshall and Jefferies), Cutler too.

Then Fox got fired.

Has the New Orleans passing game pedigree.

i was pretty strongly in agreement with that....

but did come to thinking that perhaps starting the season as a position coach and only being interim for a week he might still view starting next year as OC as progress. If he started as OC last year it would probably be a harder pill to swallow.

i have no idea how he is viewing it but i could see this as possible

Totally agree. He technically got promoted 2x in the same season. He cant really hold any ill will vs anyone if he doesnt get a HC job. Out of all the candidates he has the least experience as a coordinator and its not close correct?

Vance Joseph had only 3 more games of experience as a coordinator Edited by YoloinOhio

Lynn himself admitted it.

Blame Lynn for talking g about it earlier in the month. I understand you people try to block out this **** that goes on in the world but it only makes you ignorant when we have to talk aboht it.

Please enlighten me why you think that Lynn is only being interviewed because of Rooney Rule?

Funny Lynn was a huge HC candidate on TBD. In reality he is just filing in the Rooney rule.

That's a low, and insulting blow.

So long as there is a Rooney rule some teams will interview a person of color simply because they have too. The insulting thing is that there IS a Rooney rule in the first place that puts teams and candidates in that position.

Anthony Lynn may return to the Buffalo Bills under Sean McDermott
However, should McCoy take the job with the Broncos, it would once again open up McDermott’s offensive coordinator position. One person that could fill that position is the current offensive coordinator in Anthony Lynn. Despite having his name tossed around for head coaching jobs, there is little evidence that he is a major player for any of those positions.
Should Lynn not get any of the open jobs remaining, he already stated that his main goal was to remain with the Bills.

Total speculation. Yes, Lynn could fill that position. What evidence is there that McDermott wants him to?

Not just TBD, Jerky. All La Canfora's stuff about how the HC search was a sham and Lynn was a lock.

Don't think it follows just filling the Rooney Rule. As far as I can tell Goodwin, Richards, and Lynn not to mention Vince Jacob who we reportedly asked to interview, would all fill it.

Exactly

How do you explain it when multiple minority candidates are interviewed as is the case here? Which one checks a box and which one are they serious about? Why are they bothering to interview a candidate that they aren't serious about if they already have that box checked? Edited by Kirby Jackson

Lynn is NOT a fan of the rooney rule....as evidenced by his refusal to be the first minority candidate interviewed for an opening HC job.
