It ain't just the locals :-) From my recollection Rex was the impetus behind trying to get Coughlin into the Bills' organization. I have a feeling that it was Whaley who was against this move as it likely would have weakened his position at OBD. He's 70, but I think he's a young 70 who was cursed by terrible luck on the injury front his final two years in NY. It was like a MASH unit there. He is only a coach, but he's also a Parcells guy and will want to shop for the groceries too. He had a lot of power in Jax. That's not to say that he can't get along with a powerful GM (Accorsi).
