Deranged Rhino
You implied it. The same inference can be made about all the former Goldman Sachs people in Trump's inner circle. I did not imply they purchased cabinet positions. You're missing the obvious point.
B-Man
Here is a recent headline from The New York Times— “Is Donald Trump’s Cabinet Anti-Woman?” Then two days later we find out that Donald J Trump has appointed the most female members to an initial cabinet in American history. Trump expected to pick Cathy McMorris Rodgers to run Interior as he nears assembling the most woman-packed initial cabinet in history Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4018010/Trump-expected-pick-Cathy-McMorris-Rodgers-run-Interior-assembles-woman-packed-initial-cabinet-history.html#ixzz4SO0cv88y As we all know, to the Left, it not your genitals that decide if you are a woman, but whether or not you think the "correct" way ..... Dorkington
Exxon Mobil Corp. Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson is Donald Trump’s choice as secretary of state, NBC News reported on Saturday citing people close to the president-elect’s transition. Tillerson has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin that go back almost two decades. He was awarded the country’s Order of Friendship and as recently as 2015 visited with officials in Putin’s inner circle.

Deranged Rhino
Another friend of Russia in the offing? For the top appointment too. Optically troubling. Watching this selection warily. The optics are bullshite, of course, but that's not registering with you. We're witnessing full blown neo-McCarthyism and fearmongering which on one hand is designed to mask the problems within the DNC and the left itself, and on the other hand it's designed to serve the neocon and neo-liberal hawk agenda of regime change in Moscow. Let's not pretend that American foreign and domestic policy hasn't, at least in part, been surreptitiously driven by Big Oil for decades -- not just for republican presidencies, but democratic ones too. This (possible) selection isn't anything new. It's just more blatant. And, despite the inherent problems with this pick, he's certainly got the most experience in working with the monsters of the world. Far more than any other of the other folks in the running. DC Tom
Another friend of Russia in the offing? For the top appointment too. Optically troubling. Watching this selection warily. And yet, it was not even eight years ago that the people complaining about Trump's presumed friendliness with Russia were complaining about Bush's unfriendliness with Russia and preparing to give Putin a "reset" button. Observing that the Democrats are completely full of **** would be generous. The only consideration in their foreign policy of the past quarter-century has been to pander to low-information American voters.

And none of that matters at this moment in time, but fun for commentary. This would not be a reassuring pick, except to Russia. Fine with Bolton or Mitt. Thankfully Rudy is no longer in the mix. B-Man
In further “this is why people don’t trust the media” coverage… What do you know about Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson based upon the coverage of him so far? Probably just that he’s head of Exxon and he’s close to Vladimir Putin, right? He once was given the Order of Friendship decoration by Putin. Would you have expected for Tillerson to first be recommended to Trump by… former Defense Secretary Robert Gates? Would you have expected for the recommendation to be strongly endorsed by… former Secretary of State Condi Rice? Rice, speaking out on Facebook this morning: Rex Tillerson is an excellent choice for Secretary of State. He will bring to the post remarkable and broad international experience; a deep understanding of the global economy; and a belief in America’s special role in the world. I know Rex as a successful business man and a patriot. He will represent the interests and the values of the United States with resolve and commitment. And he will lead the exceptional men and women of the State Department with respect and dedication. I look forward to supporting Rex through the confirmation process and then welcoming him to the family of Secretaries of State. Gates, Rice praise Tillerson for secretary of state - POLITICO Would you have expected former Vice President Dick Cheney to support the selection? https://twitter.com/PhilipRucker/status/808515750856101889 Kind of an unusual fan base for a guy who’s supposed to be a puppet of Putin, isn’t it?
